Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

oops-

forgot the last picture...

We were just falling over coffee pots all over the house - the Sunbeam was in the basement and the Farberware was in the attic. The washer in the house was a 70's commercial OPL machine with a timer dial on the coin box front and the dryer was a 90's Whirlpool. Kitchen appliances were all modern replacements but the decor of the house was straight out of the 50's-60's.

Amazing finds Greg!!! That Sunbeam is a real beauty. Just talked to Roger and he and I were both saying that there just aren't any perks out there anymore and then look what you find!!! Congratulations, so glad you are having a great time.

Those Vollrath mixing bowls are the exact same set my wife got by saving Raleigh cigarette coupons in the mid-70's. They were, and are still made in Sheboygan, WI, very handy to have around.

Greg:

Very cool Farberware perc, and in great condition. It looks like it's the 8-cup model. I have the 12-cupper, which has a see-thru perc top on it instead of the knob. It's my daily driver, and makes terrific coffee. You'll enjoy using yours, I'm sure.

Hi Greg~

Great finds!

I have the same Sunbeam Percolator. I believe yours is either a 1955 or '56 model. The date should be on the bottom?

Your GE "Steam Iron" looks to be newer than mine. Mine has the cloth, electrical cord. It is, by far, the best iron I have ever used!!

Also, make sure that you ALWAYS use distilled water!

Enjoy!

Nice Farberware percolator. It's funny--I just got a 12 cup Farberware. I don't know the vintage, but it has the glass knob on top. And I was really surprised at how well it works. It won't be the coffee pot of choice for coffee nuts (who always hate percolators), and it's certainly not the best coffee maker I have. But the coffee is better than what I've had from some cheap drip makers. And, unlike the drip makers, there is that pretty glass bulb to entertain me. (Yes, sometimes I'm easily amused!)

I love those percs - so pretty. There were more than 10 at that sale but most were in pretty rough shape from years of use. These look used once, if at all for the Farberware.

I inherited my grandmothers Vollrath mixing bowl - a giant one that I've used constantly for 20 years now. I have a couple of other Vollrath bowls that I've found over the years but NIB is just too cool to pass up. These look to be from the mid-70's and I didn't have to save any cigarette coupons! (I would if someone would bring me a cigarette though - it's been 7 weeks too long ;-)
