What are your favorite kitchen appliances? My dream kitchen would have a mid 1950's Westinghouse, Frigidaire, or GE range, a mid 1950's Westinghouse, Frigidaire, or GE refrigerator, and a late 1950's Kitchenaid dishwasher. I'd love to hear about your dream kitchen!

Dream Kitchen

First EVERHING must be vintage!!

A Tappan Reversa-Jet Dishwasher TOL (not the "Dual Drench!")Many on this site confuse the two.) Consumer Reports, in 1965 said it washed "perfectly" and the only reason they did not give it a "Check Rating" was because it tended to sometimes topple glassware in the upper rack. Great looking exterior.

A 1961 Tappan Fabulous 400 Range. Grew up with one and they are super cool looking with stainless oven interiors and cool features like the built-in rotisserie and electronic meat thermometer. When the burners are pushed in you have a nice butcher block working surface.

Dual built-in type refrigerator and freezer units side by side, just like the ones on the Beverly Hillbillies (I believe someone said these were RCA Whirlpools??)

A Waste King top-of-the-line disposal from the late fifties or early sixties. Great grinders for their day, and quiet.

On the counter top would be a 1940's Sunbeam Mixmaster, a 1970 General Electric blender, a 1940's/early 50's Sunbeam Vacuum-Drip coffee maker, 1950's Sunbeam self-lowering toaster and a 1954 Sunbeam Deep Fryer.

The laundry would also be in my kitchen with a early to mid fifties Westinghouse Laundromat slant front washer and dryer.

Of course, there would be a late fifties/early sixties Westinghouse Mobilaire fan sitting in the corner!

Dream Kitchen

My dream kitchen would have a Hotpoint range with Pressure cooker in the deep well, double ovens, griddle, deep fryer, and rotisserie. Nutone exhaust hood, Deep double deep well stainless steel sink with single control and rinser, KitchenAid Imperial Dishwasher, GE dual wall ovens, Sears Side by side with outside water & ice cube dispenser, quartz or soapstone countertops. A chrome Sunbeam MixMaster with stainless steel bowls, Chrome vintage VitaMix, Versatronic GE toaster oven. Laundry would have Frigidaire 1-18 three speed washer with the matching electric dryer with drying rack. Under cabinet lighting and a movable island work surface.

My dream kitchen would have vintage commercial...

Vulcan Snorkel (or Montague Vectaire) dual convection oven, Vulcan gas range/oven, McCall (or Koch) reach-in refrigerator and freezer pair, Hobart dishwasher (AM series), all 60s-80s vintage, fully restored to NIB condition.

Of course I would be happy with the current counterparts from these manufacturers (though McCall or Koch are no longer, so I'd have to go with Traulsen for the fridge and freezer). I would never accept faux commercial equipment like Sub-Zero or Viking. I'd want the real stuff.
