I've been considering starting a new Photo Thread (and I guess I've just done it). Recently, a few AW.org members have posted pictures of themselves and their workplaces, and I thought it might be interesting to post pictures of our workplaces, and of what we do all day <br
The few pictures of members' workplaces that I've seen so far leave my workplace looking kind of shabby, but it's been home for me for the last 18 years or so. If anyone joins in, I have some more interesting (I hope) views that I've been working on. <br
Anyway, show us your workplace, and let us know what you do all day <br

A Nikon N60

This one needed a new winding base. The base (at the bottom of the picture) has posts molded onto it, on which the gears rotate. Sometimes these posts break off, and the base needs replacement. <br

A Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT

You need to be careful inserting your CF card, or you'll bend or break off the pins in the camera. It's kind of expensive to fix, so people seldom screw them up twice <br

Professional photographers shoot thousands of images a month. Even the professional models of camera are considered Beyond Repair by the manufacturers after 100,000 shots, but we'll happily replace a worn-out shutter -- for a price <br

I'm a Macintosh technician and database administrator. Two iMacs on the left are for image development, the two screens in the center are on my quad Mac Pro, and the ibook on the side is a machine I'm updating. You can see my old 12" G4 PowerBook behind the iBook. The Dell display is attached to my Mac, because I like the aspect ratio compared to the Apple one.

My group listens to people whine all day about their computer issues. I mean my group helps folks resolve their computer issues and learn to use their software applications.

My sister and her family live in Madison, out in Cottage Grove. I love Madison and love the farmer's market. I don't get there as often as I'd like.

I'm glad that somebody does tech support, and I'm glad it's not me! Our company has a strict policy that only the office people talk to customers, and the techs get to spend their time working (and laughing at the idiots that the office people are dealing with) <br
Madison's great, even though it seems to get bigger and uglier every year -- still idyllic by most standards though. <br
Every time I think of moving somewhere without cold and snow, I try to imagine somewhere I'd be happier. So far, I haven't found anything <br

Before 9/11 that could have been a possibility. Sometimes we could allow "guests" in the jumpseat during a flight. But 9/11 changed all that. Hell, even if you are a pilot you have to be checked out in a homeland security database to ride there. And not all Captains allow jump seat riders at all, even if they are qualified to be up there.

Kevin-your work on repairing cameras looks fascinating-esp compared to the monsters I have to work on.Figure some folks will want their hi end cameras repaired by a good technician.-esp commercial photographers.Just hope my work lasts-other SW transmitter sites have been closed due to budgets.fortunately the demand for SW both on the receiver end and programming sides has actually INCREASED.For many listners satellite receivers are expensive or the service isn't available.I visited a factory that builds SW transmitters and commercial ones not to long ago.They were in the process of filling orders for several oversees customers.They built some of the transmitters we use-the ones that are 60 years old.-Continental Electronics.Continental and Harris are the largest radio equipment suppliers.RCA is no longer in the commercial radio business.I have worked on lots of RCA transmitters.I like old transmitters and old appliances!
