Since I had a foods I hate thread, I thought this would be interesting,I have to have sweet tea, I very rarely drink anything else, Barbecue would have to be my favorite food of all, and for the non Southerners here, BBQ is a NOUN not a verb, It means pork , either shoulder, ham or the whole hog, cooked over hardwood coals for 8 to 12 hours, chopped and served with a spicy vinegar sauce, side dishes are usually some form of slaw, around her red slaw, French fries and hush puppies, my very most favorite meal, I also love almost anything Italian, French or Greek, and of course anything with coconut or pineapple, the 2 things Donald wont touch..LOL, basically anything full of fat and cholesterol I love, I can eat such as grilled chicken breasts etc, but I have to be talked into it.LOL

A nice piece of beef filet that's seasoned with just some S & P then allowed to sit out til it comes to room temp. Then pan sear it in a touch of butter and olive oil to a perfect medium rare where the knife just about falls thru it like butter and when you bite into it, it just about melts in your mouth from being so nice tender and juicy. Perhaps a nicely baked potato and some fresh roasted asparagus with a touch of garlic and freshly shaved parm over it.

1.Ravioli's and Pizza

3. Grilled Ham and Cheese sandwiches
4. Grilled Rueben sandwiches
5. BLT sandwiches, anything with bacon
6. Bacon Cheeseburgers
7. Hot Dogs
8. Baked Ham with Au Gratin Potatoes
9. Roast Pork with gravy and mashed potatoes
10. Coconut Cream Pie
11. Coconut Cake
12. Fish and Chips
13. Fresh, ripe Freestone Peaches, Bing Cherries, Gravenstein Apples, Navel Oranges
14. Shrimp Louie Salad
15. Sourdough French Bread and Butter
16. See's Candies
17. Chili Verde Burritos
18, White meat turkey with stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce
I pretty much like anything that is flavorful and unfortunately on the rich side. I have at least learned with age to eat these favorite foods in moderation. This way I get to enjoy all of them from time to time.

Blueberries. Fresh blueberries.

I like them in salads, smoothies, pies, coffee cakes, jam, pancakes, syrup, malts, ice cream, barbecue sauce, scones, and at least twenty other things. Love to eat them as a snack, too.[this post was last edited: 7/15/2015-05:19]

Another fave is good cantaloupe with cottage cheese. Or even tony chacheres sprinkled on top. A perfect steak fry cannot be beat either.. Or sliced bannana with homemade poppy seed dressing.

Pasta is a big favorite with me, too. My very favorite meal is a simple one: Spaghetti and meatballs topped with a good parmigiano reggiano and a slice or two of garlic toast. Were it to be my last meal, I'd add a glass of chianti.

Rick--Stouffer's makes a pretty decent lasagna. My mom would haunt me if I didn't make my own, but I've had it a number of times at catered events.

Crab legs with lots of melted BUTTER! Homegrown tomatoes and watermelon. Fried chicken with mashed potatoes lots of milk gravy and corn with fresh onions. Yummy!

Ditto on the Spaghetti and Meatballs.

I'm Italian what can I say? I have to watch my gluten intake so I have been making my pasta and pizza dough with Spelt Flour which doesn't seem to bother me. I also love Pizza. I can tear up a sheet pan of pizza like nobody's business. I black out and when I come to I have sauce all over my hands and face, the pan is empty and I have no recollection of what happened. :)

Anyone tried Spelt Flour products?

if you don't want to make a full tray of lasagna, try th

They are super easy and you can make only what you need. You can also vary the sauce and filling you use too. I love doing a mushroom tomato sauce, but you could easily do a light mushroom cream sauce. I want to try adding cooked crumbled italian sausage in the filling next. Recipe calls for low fat cottage cheese but i have done it with either Part Skim or Full Fat Ricotta. I also up the spinach to cheese ratio to make them lighter and more healthy.

And taste way better than anything out of a box.

Short anecdote:

I'd been making snacks and candy (taffy) since I was 10. But my first 'meals' were in college; spaghetti and fried chicken. I don't do FC much anymore, colossal mess.

Spaghetti sauce OTOH, continues to evolve 50 years later. Make 10 servings at a time and freeze them in Ragu jars, though I haven't bought Ragu since the 90s. I don't think they even make that size any more.

Pound of hamburger and sausage, LOTS of mushrooms and black olives, extra tomato sauce to float all the chunks. But I've never made it from absolute scratch.

I love all food, what can I say?? LOL

But if I had to pick, pasta and meat sauce is the top of the list, followed by roast pork, chicken Cacciatore, pan-seared salmon, real Cesar salad (the one made with a coddled egg and anchovies), shrimp mousse, chocolate cake, blueberry pie and waffles. All home-made, preferably with turquoise appliances.... LOL

strawberries and whipped cream

Frankfurter "Griee Sooß" (Grüne Soße) (a yogurt type of thick cold dressing made out of TONS of 7 freshly chopped herbs, it is eaten with cooked potatoes, fish or boiled eggs)

French "éclairs"
real Canadian maple syrup (I could drink it just like that)
Turkish "sucuk" garlic sausages
Dutch French fries (no better fries in the world than theirs!)
Jewish apple cake (made with oil, not shortening, lots of grated nuts and shredded apples in the dough, chocolate frosting)
Feldsalat ("mouse ears salad") = lambs lettuce/ corn salad
steamed cauliflower with breadcrumbs roasted in butter
French "St. Paulin" cheese (the best!)
cold cucumber/melon soup, Austrian style
Cevapcici
Dutch mustard soup
smoked mackerels with coarse pepper
Finnish "Karjalan piirakka" (I hope the spelling is right) - sort of a boat-shaped rye roll with chopped boiled eggs and butter, often grilled or toasted)
caper apples
Scottish shortbread

Pasta. Love it with all sorts of sauces from olive oi & parm cheese to elaborate sauces. I have some sort of whole wheat pasta every work day for lunch. Chocolate. I'm a chocoholic. Meat Loaf. Italian cuisine. Pound cakes. Home made simple cookies such as peanut butter or chocolate chip. Doughnuts, especially jelly filled or cream filled. I could just keep on writing stuff, but will stop.

Some of my loves........

Shellfish. Clams, scallops, shrimp, lobster.

Peanut butter, but only smooth Jif.

Raw vegetables, dip optional, and I mean optional. Carrots, celery, broccoli, red bell peppers, zuchinni, cauliflower.

Potatoes. My heritage is 50% Welsh, 50% German. Baked, mashed, twice baked, pan-fried. Not the casserole at Cracker Barrel. No cheese at Waffle House. McDonald's fries, but only if they are hot, and I am inside the store. You do not have to say "no salt," they really would rather you didn't. If you ask for fresh, and are willing to wait the few minutes, most will be happy to comply.

Pears. As a treat, Del Monte sliced, in syrup.

Beef, no more than medium rare. Most cuts of pork. Chicken, but mostly thighs, legs, and wings.

Rice. Uncle Ben's, wild rice, basmati, risotto. Yes, I am a carbohydrate......

Tuna, halibut, flounder, salmon.

Bananas, but just a minute after they turned yellow. Splotchy ones go into baked goods or the bin.

Red raspberries. When my market offers them 2 for $6.00, that's all I have for the next meal.

Bacon, but not ham. Most hams around here just taste too salty to me.

All things citrus. Clementines get me through winter. Key lime pie gets me through heartbreak.

My baking. I am almost always disappointed by store bought cookies, cakes, and pies. A notable exception is Pepperidge Farm Coconut cake and two other people with forks.

Soups, generally homemade. I think I've posted my mushroom soup here. I know I have posted my Ma's potato soup..... When I do open a can, it's generally a Progresso can.

Corn. On the cob, creamed..but home done, so I can select the texture. Cornbread, pan cooked corn fritters/cakes/dodgers, not deep fried.
"No salt added" canned tastes much fresher than the salted variety. Same is true with green beans.

My friend Marsha's shrimp and barley salad. Most salads. Green salad with dijon vinaigrette (lemon juice, Grey Poupon, tiny pinch salt, and Colavita olive oil).

Avocados.

Pistachios, cashews, walnuts, pecans, macadamias.

I have delveloped a slight, but real allergy to chocolate. Maybe more of a sensitivity. However.......it's not fun to live with.

Pastas..spagh bolognese, butter with garlic.........

I live alone, but no longer drive, and the nearest full line supermarket is 3 miles away, so I do rely on canned, bottled, and frozen more than I would always like.

Where do I start?

OK here I go

Prime Rib, No more than mid-rare and do not over salt the au-jus.

A good steak, I look for fine marbling moisten with Worchestershire, season and broil on a hot grill to mid-rare.

A good burger, fry it on the flattop grill like it should be. Finish with cheese and bacon.

REAl smoked BBQ: ribs, brisket, chicken, pork shoulder and ham.

Smoked Sausage, brats, hot dogs

A good italian meat sauce.

Many cheeses

Spinach, corn, green beans, collard greens.

I'm sure there will be more.
