Been looking on CL again this time for a range hood. Most sellers( what few is out there on web. Most dont even list the size of their hoods for sale even called Habitat Restore stores..
Most of the new units get a lousy rating.esp in the CFM department...nosey etc
Any good recommendations.. ?
Already have the cutout in the cabinet above...from previous owners..
Sure miss having the light part.and fan when occc. I burn something...
There is space only for a 30 inch wide hood between the upper cabinets... over the 30 slide in unit I bought used several months ago. Unfortunately the people(sellers) had a Microwave over the stove so they didnt have a regular hood to sell too Def not interested in a Microwave...
Ps... are most of yall having crazy unusual weather, too??? I guess its climate change or weather wars or Planet X ????
Ps got a free old cheap(white) one that is yellowed and needs cleaning and painting and its probably weak CFMs...
Thanks all

If you want to invest, I purchased a Vent-a-Hood several years ago and really like using it. The only thing I was a little peeved by was that I wanted white (to match the kitchen) and indeed got white, but expected the "works" to be stainless--nuh unh--the "works" are white as well. The white enamel is guaranteed dishwasher safe and doesn't appear to be breaking down at all on the flat surfaces (edges are peeling a bit, but it's not visible).

Anything that exhausts outside is better than the very best unvented hood.   And yes it is in my bucket list.

I agree wholeheartedly. The contractor put in a Broan unvented hood which is............................useless.

I purchased this white 30" Viking range hood on ebay. New, in opened box and very inexpensive presumably because it was not stainless steel. It's built like a restaurant hood, no mesh filters. The blower and dual flood lights are variable. It's very powerful. I have however bumped my forehead on the corners, especially if I'm cooking with wine (drinking, not as an ingredient).
