I just got an email from Dyson USA, apparently they are releasing some kind of new technology in a couple days! I wonder what it could be? Here is the email:

Sometimes the best way to improve an old technology is to completely change the way it works. In 1993, Dyson engineers created the first vacuum cleaner to use cyclone technology instead of bags – because bagged vacuums don’t work properly.

Now we’ve turned our attention to another familiar device - and made it work better by removing something you might have thought was essential. This is a new machine for Dyson. It won't be launched for a few more days, but you can get an idea what it might be on our website.

I don't think it's a washing machine, as they already tried and failed on that front, and it says its a new product for Dyson. Unless they're thinking its appearance was so short they're hoping no one will remember.

What is for sure is

-It will make you go "Wow" - Such a cool idea. Why'd nobody think of that, before?
-It will be colorful.
-It will be fabulously, exotically expensive.
-It will have total snob appeal.

OK, it's beginning to sound like they've designed the newest apple product here so here are the other things you can be sure of if it's Dyson:
-It will be colorful but cheap, cheap cheap plastic of the kind kids used to put up with in the 1950's in the nickel and dime store. Only, not that high grade.
-Customer service will only be possible after calling the arrogant, nasty, rude hotline and having them treat you like something icky you find on the bottom of your shoe in a dirty dog kennel.
-It will break down just about the time you think you've finally gotten your money's worth out of it
-In one year, everyone will be making the same thing in China and selling it for 1/4 the price at Walmart. And soon, even your maid will have one.

Actually, it could be apple. Wonder if the two firms merged?

Contra-Rotator Re-Release?

Well, the Contra-rotator was never released in the US so technically, that would be a new product here. And I do recall mention that they planned to re-engineer it before releasing it again.

The washer was voted the most unreliable machine in the UK, the 2 drum mechanism was prone to becoming misaligned, and the repair is to lock the drums together so that it works like any other washer.

Kinda defeats the object if you ask me. Not to mention having 2 motors can lead to repairs being very costly.

I hate their vacuums too, my Mum has a DC01 and it can't pick up a thing, cuts out after 5 mins due to overheating, bits are dropping off it, and it DOES lose suction.

Needless to say, I'm not a huge fan of Dyson products, lol

Dyson re-designs the world

Odds on it will be another peice of cheaply made overstyled junk that will impress a few plebs and thus sell

I wish manufacturers would just admit that bagless vacuums are a dismal failure (unless of course it's a Rainbow) and move on.

"Funny I'm watching the video all those woman going

Maybe that air device thing involves a Magnetron and the women saying "oh my God" must be as a result of their brain being fried from standing in front of it.

Thanks For the Laugh!

A "bladeless" fan. That works by means of a bladed fan in the base. Introduced by a multi-million-pound advertising campaign just as the weather is turning cold.

Genius. Sheer genius.
