What I did on my summer ‘staycation’ – Part 1 – GE Washer woes

I convinced Hubby earlier this year that it would be a nice change to spend some vacation time down at the house in Ogden instead of jetting off to some faraway place and have our luggage get lost in yet another country. I figured we would be able to relax and actually enjoy our own place. Of course I had plans to work on some of my several projects in progress – I actually got SOME work done, too... LOL
First up – when I finally got the GE V-12 washer into the basement and hooked up, I discovered a leak following the first wash test. I was convinced it was just a bad hose...

I ran the washer through a short cycle – no drips were found on the inlet hoses or from the inlet valves I had tinkered with.
The washer started – the Filter-Flo recirculation hose that I fixed was also fine.
That’s when I saw this...

I didn’t run the washer for long, but it seems to me that water is oozing from the transmission housing...
I consulted a GE Washer Repair-Master that I have for clues – my thought is that the basket boot or the transmission boot (or knowing my luck, both...) are the possible causes for the leak.
If I am right on either cause, would anyone know what the part numbers for the respective boots are? I managed to scare up a NOS transmission boot, but it will fit 1956 to 1960 models (I may still need it for a certain 57 GE, though...)
Could there be any other possible causes for this leak??
