Turquoise green westinghouse Slant fronts from the 50s. Ones with the raised panel at the back top.

Someone on here posted an ad for an over the top kitchen with lots of minty green appliances and paint, as well as these machines off to the site.

Tough call on the brand... But I think my dream set would be the 1957 or 1958 GE Filter-Flo washer paired up with a Clothes Conditioner automatic dryer. Colour? Turquoise, bien sûr!! LOL

1956 Westinghouse Deluxe - Slant Front FL......

Still looking for the ever elusive 1956 Westinghouse Deluxe Slant Front Front Loading Washer in White...... the machine that started the love affair with washers and a story told many times here. Grandmother had a '56 set - W & D - and the memories of standing in front of the washer with a flashlight are as fresh as the days when I was at the same height as the glass and could see right in!

Gotta find one in White someday!!

My dream vintage machine is pictured below,a 1968 avacodo green alphabet Kenmore with suds saver. This was my favorite washer as a child. This picture has been posted on this site before, and I was so exited to see this washer I saved the picture and made it my desk top background.

A 1958 WCI and DCI Frigidaire Pair.  It would have to be at least a 2-set laundry room.  OR the other set would be a WCI65 and WI65 set.  Both in Turqoise.  the 1965 Frifidaire set could be aztec copper too.  The last "set" could be a TOL 1957 or 1958 Bendix Duomatic.  Pink wouldn't even be allowed as a consideration or be allowed to come near the house.

Filter-Flo or Unimatic

A tough call, but my first choice would be a 1957-59 GE Filter-Flo with the pink (57-58) or sea foam (59) agitator cap and the copper filter pan, and of course the matching dryer.

My next choice would be a 1950-55 Unimatic Frigidaire with the matching Filtrator dryer.

I also like the 125/126 or 142 series Maytag Center Dial washers with the Halo of Heat Dryers. I like the agitator with the four black fins and built-in lint filter and detergent dispenser. (Only the 142 has the dispenser and filter.)

FRIGIDAIRE

I have a few favorites

1. FRIGIDAIRE 1958 Custom Imperial in turquoise, pink or charcoal gray
2. FRIGIDAIRE 1965 Custom Imperial high fashion Jet Action washer and Flowing Heat dryer in turquoise.
3. 1956 WESTINGHOUSE laundromat DeLux twins
4. 1956 KELVINATOR washer and dryer in mint green
5. 1954 Bendix Duomatic gas combo.

Which one Washernoob?  Was that the one on the right?   lol

I would love to have an avacado (or really any color) White Westinghouse with blue ramp agitator.  If anyone has one for sale in great condition, e-mail me.

Hmmm.....

Well my top 3 choices for now....

1971 Lady Kenmore set, custom painted black.

A late 60's or early 70's (with panel light AND tub light, not sure what years had those)Maytag A806 set, custom painted a candy apple red.

1976 Whirlpool set, custom painted the pretty blue like Whirlcool's modified Whirlpool.

Theeennn.....

1958 Frigidaire Custom Imperial Unimatic (like Roberts) custom painted a dark emerald green.

1968 or 69 GE Filter Flo set like Jons1077's, custom painted in sunny yellow.

My first choice would be a 1957 Lady Kenmore set in pink. I already have the dryer (pictured below). I just need the washer. My second choice would be a westinghouse slant front from the mid 50's

Okay Fellas..... Here's Mine.....

My Top-5:

(01). 1957 Lady Kenmore Set (the Washer has a Tub Light and a Germicidal Lamp, and the Dryer, a Lighted Drum...... and both machines would have those distinctive looking Antique Looking Copper Footers on the bottom of them) -- In All Porcelain and in Doreskin.

(02). 1966-67 Lady Kenmore Set -- Custom Painted In Platinum and with Chrome Striping on the cabinets.

(03). 1980-82 Lady Kenmore Electronic Set -- In Black (actually, the 1986-87 Set is already being offered in this color, but by me having my 1980-82 Set painted this colored, that would put my 1980-82 Set ahead of its time).

(04). 1965 Frigidaire Custom Imperial Set -- In Turquoise.

(05). 1966-74 Maytag A806 Set -- Custom Painted In Black (just like my 1980-82 Lady Kenmore Electronic Set..... I would like the Agitator to have a Chrome Top).

Honorable Mention:

(01). Late 1960's Speed Queen TOL Set (the Washer MUST have a Stainless Steel Tub, and the Dryer, a Stainless Steel Drum and the Washer MUST have the clanking Solenoids and Fluid Drive System..... both machines have Lighted Consoles) -- Painted in Avacado just like that 1968 Kenmore Set in Reply # 5.

Well..... those are MY favorites (for now anyway).....

Regards.....

I would have to say my dream set would be an avocado 1968 Whirlpool Imperial Mark XII pair with the faux wood front panels (ala RevvinKevin).  The washer must also have the famous "Suds-Miser" that they touted for so many years.  And the dryer needs to be electric.  I love the idea of the multi-directional dryer door.

Didn't really know till I saw Vern's picks with all the custom colors, especially emerald green and real sunshine yellow and candy apple red, but I haven't decided what machines to put those colors on.

Well I'm glad I could be a source of inspiration for you Mickey
