I've had SF Westinghouse, large and small tub Maytags, WP BDs, a Filterflo here and there, a Frigidaire and a Panasonic twintub, all vintage and all worked perfectly well. None was a dog for wash/rinse ability. The Panasonic spun best by twice. The Westy and Tags were easiest to work on for routine upkeep like belts, the WP was a curse (literally), changed the pump coupling on a FF without too much gnashing, the Panasonic needed no repairs. The Panasonic also had a unique bottom-offset washplate that created VERY active turnover without much knotting despite non-reversing.
Current machine is Panda (China) twintub. Best solution for the space and laundry volume I have. I'd rather have the Panasonic back but that's impossible. The latemodel Maytag coinop TLs and FL downstairs are inflexible to the point of unusable. No options, not even pause/soak. The only thing they do right is fill adequately. Tough laundry would require 3 cycles to do right and rinse well.
