I am thinking of getting this to replace my beloved KUDA22 with a bad board. Would this be newer or older than a 22? Hobart motor or Whirlpool? Does it have a 3rd wash arm that rinses the tops of glassware?

Thanks :)

Looks like a 21 series.  I'm not absolutely sure, but I think on the 22 series the "rinsed only" light changed to "please wait."  Others here will know for sure.

Not a Hobart, but like one in almost every way, as Whirlpool had not yet made any significant changes.  The motor should be an Emerson.  No third wash armlet.

We had the "Imperial" model of this machine and it served us for 18 years until we moved and left it behind.

No this does not have the constant rinse.  The constant rinse (little spray arm at the top showing down over glasses) ended with the 18 series.

On the Money, Glenn

KDS/KUDS22 machine, made by Whirlpool but with the Hobart designed Pump. The 23 series had the Whirlpool Power Module pump and the "please wait" indicator light.
This was to prevent users from stopping the rapid advance feature mid way thru the cancel/drain function and then starting a new cycle before the timer came to the reset position. This could result in the heating element coming on and heating without water in the sump and causing the plastic items in the sump area to melt or possibly worse before the hi-limit thermostat would cut off the power.
