My Dollar Happy:

A bag of kitty treats for Marty.

He knows the second I'm in the front door that I have them. He does a dance of anticipation you would not believe. And while I'm cutting the bag open and putting some out, he's the happiest little guy in the world - like the kee-cat equivalent of winning the lottery. To get the same reaction out of humans these days, you'd have to come home with a Bugatti Veyron for them.

Marty's reaction to his little largesse is very, very happy-making.
 
This is a Tough One!

Sorry - nothing much costs less than or equal $1 where I live - unless you're after Asian snackfood, and that doesn't make me happy, only a little less hungry and concerned about the possible results it may bring... 

 

However, I think I can brew a cuppa for about $1. They're nice. Keeps me awake, and can put me to sleep.

Flavors in the coffee are nice. (Words of a "Coffee-Addict." So much for not letting one's vices get the better of them!)

 

For those so inclined - with the price of Alcohol and Cigarettes, I imagine if one found pleasure in such things, then you might get away with a shot or a smoke for about that price. From your own pack/bottle, of course.

That's not what I suggested, or said. Many or most homeless people on the street in large cities aren't homeless. The street is their home.

I don't give cash to people who ask on the street, mainly because I never carry cash-ever.  But I will buy food if they tell me they are hungry (I do carry my debit card).

I once gave a man a Hot dog $1 at Quick-Trip.  He cried and swallowed that dog whole.  You never know when that could be you or someone you love.

I'm not going to sit back and be insulted and called names by other users. Stalking? I was doing no such thing. I was just reading the posts by others and came across your response. You decided to attack for virtually no reason at all.

The clique? Are you talking about dedicated long term members? And just how have you helped people here?

A review of posting histories easily answers that question. Also, fortunately with the checkmark system here, at least I know Robert has a good idea of the full list. It's not many but it's the same half-dozen members who, relentlessly and for reasons I neither know nor care to know, make it a point to disagree, criticize and start flame wars in discussions. Regardless of content and even regardless of who posted from this JeffG account. It's downright ridiculous imo if not pathetic and I'm sure the admins have better things to do than babysit it.

To answer your last question, our participation on this site is strictly for the benefit and pleasure of the site's owners. For those who don't care to read our posts, it's what the new ignore feature is for. Would you please use it, and this way you don't need to gang up like emotionally disturbed six year-olds on a member for suggesting they give their $1 to a homeless person. Good lord.

One last edit. Yep, 34 seconds. I originally thought it was 112 but what you quoted was gone from here in 34. Give it a minute or two next time, if it's not perfectly clear by now I always do my thinking after my typing.

If you don't want a post to be seen by other members, don't type it in. Simple as that. There is a preview button you can press while you are thinking too. It will let you see what you have written before sending it to the general population of the website. Use it.

I am sure Robert will be interested to know that all the hard work he has done creating and maintaining this website is for his own pleasure. He's spent days and night, months on end getting the website to where it is today. I guarantee you that he had the interests of the entire washing machine/appliance collector group in mind when writing this website.

And the threads here express the opinions of the members of this website. You are certainly never going to get everyone to think the same way. As long as you don't use profanity and call other members names you are free to post what you think. Everyone is free to share their opinion.
 
You make your own sausage mcmuffins too FL? Add real bacon bits, sausage rcmuffin. Nothing comes close, not even the original. Besides I'm at least 4 hours away from waking up when mcdonalds stops selling them. Add a handful of tatertots.

Must be pan-fried sausage, tried every other possibility. I fry a pound at a time and freeze them. On a plate first, then in a freezerbox, so they don't stick together.

What fun can I have with $1? A beer and a half. I buy them on sale and hoard them. Roughly 190 on hand at the moment, 2 months worth.

In Algodones Mexico, a short 2 hour drive, where every other business is a Dentista or a Pharmacia, $1.00 can get you a box of these. It helps if you ask for them in Spanish..."Puedo tener una caja de Valium por favor"

PS...of course I'm just joking. Algodones is a haven for regular perscription meds but selling drugs like Valium and Xanax are prohibited and the US Custom agents would seize them, probably fine you too.

IMHO your lack of reading comprehension skills borders on pathetic. Yet AGAIN I'm forced to point out the above garbage is neither what was posted or meant.

Lawrence, easily the best idea so far in this thread imo.

The admins and any other AW member who for whatever bizarre reason actually care are encouraged to review my posting history and reach the above conclusion. My forum contributions are routinely among the most liked.

Also for the record, I forget the exact number but several times during heated exchanges on AW over 7+ years I've emailed Robert privately and asked if he'd rather see me in read-only mode, the answer has always been no. If he or Fred even suggested it I'd be more than happy to comply: honestly we've been giving to a whole lot more than getting from AW lately, at least in the paid forums.
