Found another old Maytag that was cheap close by me. Been trying to figure out what model it is.. model 15? Model 10? Don't see these kinds often and couldn't pass it up. Where is the serial number on these guys? This was sitting in the basement of a house this now older couple bought in 1962 ( house was from the teens or a bit older).. and the previous hand washing 2 tubs on a wood rack were there too ( the previous washer before the original home owners got the Maytag I suspect ). So it's been unused since before 1962. It's missing 1 capped nut on side of machine and the wringer control switch got broken off..but other than that it's in great shape. The lid is a little squashed but no biggie. Any info would be great. As you can see my collection is starting to grow now lol ;)

Thanks!

I was on that site but I couldn't tell the difference between the tub models. For instance the model 15 and model 110?

Your work cut out for you!

That's starting to become an impressive collection! A lot of work in front of you, if you plan on doing full restorations. But such satisfying work it is!

Look on the bottom of the skirt and I believe you'll find the serial number (or perhaps on one of the legs.) Provide it to me and I'll look up the month/year of manufacture for you!

Note: you may have figured this out already, but the wringer frame for the round tubs is NOT interchangeable with the square tubs.

Thanks Brad

I'll see if I can find the serial number. I had no idea about the wringer frame. The round tub ringer looks like the square tub ringer on my gas Maytag.. but what makes them incapable?

I hope to do full restos on them all. I just need to find a few parts and I should be good to go

Serial number

I didn't see the serial plate before since it was covered in dust . Snapped a pict of it and also wanted to know if anyone knows what the hole with rubber grommet was for? I was thinking if it was a gas powered one the brass shutoff loop would possibly stick out of there?

Awesome Brad

Thanks Brad! I was thinking it was a model 10, though I'm not sure what makes them different from the 110. I see what you mean about the wringer. It's different shaped!! I thought that the hole could be for the cord.. but the cord that's on there now may be too far.. though it's definitely an older non modern looking cord. Maybe I'll try to route it though there. I appreciate the help! I never see these round tubs around at all from this era :)
