What the heck? Weird Kenmore

The auction says this is a 50's reproduction. Looks newer than that to me, but is this weird, or what?

I picked up one of those about a year or so ago.It was definately newer than 50's vintage,closer to late 60's.
I also remember it was very HEAVY,and took forever to sell.
