Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

COOL!!!

I've seen a video of your whirlpool cyclapso, that is the weirdest washing action I've ever seen. Thanks for posting.

Even though we are very satisfied with our Whirlpool DD set, I would love a Frigidaire multimatic or unitmatic. Grew up with a 62' Custom Imperial set and that really cleaned clothes the best. Plus lots of entertainment with the wash action.

While I love Maytag dishwashers, I am not really a fan of their TL washers. Way too boring for me. The Whirlpools we now have replaced a Maytag set that we had for a few years. They just seemed to have weak wash action.

Thanks to 2 members here I'm the proud owner of a mid-90's Maytag A710. It's sitting in my kitchen hooked up to the sink. It's totally in the way and I don't care because it cleans my clothes way better than the new GE TL super high-tech thing in the basement that adds COLD water when set to hot and .... need I go on?

Now that I have clean clothes again I'm thinking of my next purchase. I want no electronics, a second rinse option, a warm rinse option, and the same lint filter I have in the A710.

Would a 906 fit the bill?

On the other hand, my mother has a Kenmore Series 80 that has yet to shred a thing, has a warm rinse option, and a self-cleaning lint filter that seems to actually work as designed.

Decisions, decisions..... but I'm having fun here learning ;-)

</blockquote> A906 doesn't have an automatic 2nd rinse option, although it does have a Rinse(-and-spin) selection that can be run manually.

For me-like vacuums no real favorite-anything "old school" at this stage-none of those silly HE machines for me.BD WP,KNs,GE Filter Flows,Norge Burpilators-any old shool TL machine at this stage-Sometime down the road a new TL SQ.Even older school Helical slow stroke Maytags would be another choice-no fast stroke machines,,please-but will settle for that if nothing elese available.Sort of limited by the choices in swap shops here.Sometimes you get lucky and find what you want or need.

I'm totally, completely biased - I love my GE Filter-Flo! This is a shot of my '63 model. Here's to hoping that in 2014 I'll do something with the waiting-to-be-reborn '57 model...

My Kenmore (circa. 1990's) & most of all the Wash & Wear (Fast Agitation, Slow Spin) which hardly gets used...

(And needed a new shaft, once when doing a load that it quit during, luckily when it only needed to spin for its Rinse, which the pump luckily had drained all the water out of the tub, hence I took the clothese it was doing to my dad's to finish the Extraction-Spin, then dry in his dryer, borrowing his washer until I could finally arrange for the simple repair (and cheap at only $187)...)

making your world a little easier...

Whirlpool makes it easier, Whirrrrrrlpooooooool

Anyone remember that jingle, I think from the 80's?

I always thought My whirlpool Imperial 70 made laundry a little easier.

When I got rid of that machine, Laundry day has been very difficult since then.

My 1996 Whirlpool

Is now 17 years old and the ONLY part replaced besides hoses are the agitator dogs.  While I loved the big Continental/SQ machines and they were by FAR the best washers I have used EVER, for a home TL nothing can beat a DD WP/KM.  however I would never snub a SQ FL or TL either.

Whirlpool Commercial:

I remember the commercial and can still hear the jingle. It was from the mid 80s and the electronic models was featured.

Oh that reminds me...

Our 1974 sears kenmore bit the rust I would say. You could get the top off but after that you could get no further. The steel drum nearly rusted apart - multiple holes because of rust. Poor thing would agitate and spin all day but would not hold a drop of water. Wish we could have saved it. The only thing I don't like about the old Kenmore belt drive washers is that they spin really, really ssslllooowww. Please excuse it trying to make a URL link.

I love the Bexdix Auto Washer deluxe 7147B
I grew up with this back in the 1980's
I think it was a washing machine ahead of its time.
It was Super Silent, had many features that took advantage of differing soap powders.
It had a cool down rinse before going onto the main rinse cycle & spinning which reduced creasing.
It had a sloped front door which helped with the wash tumble action.

Oh joy, that takes me back to my youth
Did that style of model ever come with a 1000rpm spin or just 800rpm?
And do you know of anyone who might be selling this model as i'd buy it 2moro?
It is a 7147B??

1000 rpm square door Bendix?

See, now, I could swear my sister's square door Bendix of this style was a 1000rpm machine, and was called something like Autowasher 1000 Deluxe. Alas, I have no proof and I was about 7 when it was replaced, so I can't be sure...

Oh now I so wished you had pictures of it.
But we are talking in the style of the 7147B model.
would love to see or know if it ever came with a 1000rpm spin speed & if anyone has a working model too.
