Ok but why invoke or invite hostility on a phone call? Especially if the scammer doesn't hang up and replies with vulgarity? Some like attention. Some are ignorant and prejudiced. I see why we are where we are these days. You can't blame people for defending the right to expression and free speech, but it is met with violence and now legal murder. Karma is a crazy thing too.

The single best feature of my iPhone is the setting that blocks incoming calls from ringing if they're not in the directory. I don't like that I have to add a number if I'm expecting a call, but it's done wonders for my already frighteningly tenuous grip on sanity... and I tell people to text me first, then I can easily add their number. I had a buddy who had an app on his phone that could spoof his call to me, and make the ID on the display match a valid number in my directory. It was the only case where that happened to me, and fortunatly, never grew into a "thing"... I also have no qualms about saying whatever I want to a scammer. They're the criminals and they know it, I have no obligation to be polite.
