After looking thru my catalog pages of GE fridges Jeanine...

I think you are correct about the fridge being a 1959 model...if you can provide me with the model number I can tell you for sure...PATRICK COFFEY

Thanks, Patrick. Unfortunately, these pictures are all I have. Someone has it for sale, and I was trying to decide whether or not I should get it. I love that it's a GE and original turquoise, but I think it may just be too small. Plus, it doesn't have the lazy Susan's that I love.

Jeanine,

This could be either a 1958 or 1959 model; Serial number would tell for sure.  From the front, this is the model that we had in Air Force housing, built in 1959.  However, GE produced the same cabinet and door for at least 2 years (maybe even 3 - into 1960).  In 1958 this look applied to 3 models - LK-11R, LB-10R and LB-81R.  Judging by the interior shot you provide, this is the 10 cu. ft. model with the dual vegetable bins (8 cu. ft. model had a single drawer).  The larger model (11 cu. ft.) did include revolving refrigerator shelves and a separate freezer compartment behind the main door.

It's probably safe to assume that the same models were offered in 1959, with a "S" suffix.

Pulltostart it is NOT a 1958

I have the catalog pages for the 1958 as well as the 1959 models and the 1958 models had a light blue interior, where the 1959 models had a white interior like this one does....PAT COFFEY

The 1958 model had a light blue interior with a 1957 style handle on the freezer door. The 1959 models had a white interior and the same freezer door handle as the model in the picture. I have confirmed this with the catalog pages I have for both the 1958 and 1959 GE fridge lines....PAT COFFEY

Thank you all for the replies. When googling "vintage GE refrigerators", models that looked like this one were listed as being 1959s. However, I've seen wrong dates applied to things, so wanted to make sure. The white one on the right was also for sale, but it did not have the lazy Susan shelves, either. I ended up passing on both.
