What year Kenmore washer is this

A friend posted pictures of an estate sale. I noticed in the background a washing machine I’m going to see you tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone on here recognize that kind of Kenmore washer and what the face would look like

It’s probably early seventies. It looks like it has a detergent dispenser so it would be an 800 or top of the line model.

1970-1972ish model 800 2nd to TOL.

It's not a Lady Kenmore which would be TOL because the panel back doesn't appear deep enough.

Would match the dryer we had in Beverly Farms !! The drawer had no doubt outlasted a few washers as there was an 80 or 90's Maytag

I would’ve already had it home without asking. Lol That being said it will probably need a full rebuild to be a dependable machine but as far as I’m concerned it’s worth it. Or you could hold it long enough to pass it on to another collector if you’re not interested but I also understand space is an issue for most. I’m sure it’s going to the recycling center otherwise.

I believe that is an 80 series as I had that same model gas dryer that worked fine. Ex gave it to her brother and last I knew was still using it.

She’s home!!! And was free. Lots of rust…. Would not start belt is rusty and seized up. Ehhhh I don’t know. Makes a low humming noise when started up

I would take the two screws that hold the back panel out toward the bottom of the back, remove the back panel, and up toward the top of the back opening you should see the belt going side to side.

Try moving the belt side to side. One thing that can happen with these is the pump can seize and that just freezes everything. That belt should move relatively freely at all times.

Also, does it have a sudsaver?

Thank you all again I’m definitely gonna need help with this one. This washer
Came from a nice home in a great neighborhood. The family owned a restauran in Niagara Falls I asked the estate sale staff and they told me they could not figure out why the washer was in the basement in storage the home had an upper 1st floor laundry with a newer washer & Dryer “ Whirlpool” this washer was in the corner in the basement next to a continuous running sump pump. When I moved it there was sunflower seeds underneath rust all over on the inside cabinet. I will keep all posted this washer gas not seen the light of day in many years..

Kenmore Model 700 or 800 (early 1970’s)

I was going say early 1970’s Model 700 or Model 800. #3 in the lineup that year.

But I was going to say #2 or #3 in the beginning. Both of those had detergent dispensers that year along with the Lady Kenmore.

The #2 had toggle switches, and the #3 (which is yours) had knobs and a lever control, the Lady Kenmore had two rows of 7 push-buttons, a timer and a water level lever. All three had detergent dispensers, bleach and fabric softener dispensers and lighted consoles.

Enjoy her in it’s full glory after the rebuild.

Serial number from the tag on back above the water valve is coded for the year and week of manufacture.

If it's determined that's it's worth saving...

The guts look reasonably in good shape and the top is probably porcelain.

The base will need major overhaul. Fortunately the guts are easily removed.

Easiest would be to lift the top off, carefully turn the base on it's side (with some plywood between the guts and the body, remove the the three support posts the guts hang from and slide the works out the bottom temporarily.

Then take the base to an auto paint/repair shop and have them sand blast, prime, and paint it unless you want to do it yourself.

Needless to say a touch-up kit isn't going to work here.

I'd start by removing the pump as it's most likely seized. Then you can remove the belt from the motor, see if the shaft spins, turn it upright, plug it in and determine if the motor works so you can see where you stand with the electrics.

Then, you can open the lid and try turning the tub manually to see what the response is.
