I think this has turned into quite a fishy evening here.. I am eating Goldfish, Sweedish Fish and Tuna Noodle Cassarole and some Halibut in the fridge.. And some wierd fish dip thats good, but odd smelling... I am washing it all down with wal mart cola (i think it's better than coke or pepsi)
 
Hand and Foot

When I met my partner we were pleased that both of us enjoy playing a card game called Hand and Foot or sometimes, In the Pocket. You are dealt two hands and must play through one to get to the other.
He and I are invited to play Hand and Foot with a group of his friends. I am taking a bread wreath of Danish pastry filled with marzipan.
I don't drink, so I can be the world's designated driver.

Nothing big here either. Some years, one of my friends would have a house party - usually fun, but ended up always being a 4AM night. This year, I got the house in order today, did laundry, changed beds, and made sure everything was clean for the new year.

I also made a pot of lentil soup (made with carrots sliced into rounds to resemble coins), fried some chicken cutlets and sausage. Tomorrow, it will be customary to eat a bowl of lentil soup and a piece of sausage for good finacial luck (lentils resemble coins and pork symbolizes riches). Now I only need to find a man to cross my threshhold in the morning - first person of the year to enter your house must be male. Old custom, but interesting..

Otherwise, tonight it's just me the soon to be taken down Christmas tree and some old movies.

Laying low and staying out of trouble tonight here too. We will enjoy the neighborhood fireworks and if its not cloudy, can usually see the fireworks on the River from the patio. Wishing everyone a Very Happy, Healthy, Safe, New Years.
 
We are doing absloutely nothing. BBC America is having a Ab Fab marathon on tonight and we rented "The Devil Wears Prada", if we can stay up for it. I still feel like crap, so maybe I'll go to bed early.
But Happy New Year to everyone here on the board!
 
The ball fell!!! Poo dick clark..I know he's been doing this for years and years, but he sounds drunk... Poor thing he's had a stroke and everything else
 
Oh, i know that Bob.... I did not mean it in a bad way... I feel so bad for him because he's done this for so long and he want's to continue and i think thats great...

Well, they'll be no sleep tonight, at least as long as the pyrotechnic exhibition is going on.....

AND, I came back to see if exploder's house is still safely anchored to the ground...
 
Like I mentioned in the other thread, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! And so brings the end to 2006, a VERY good year as far as finds (and washer fun) were concerned.

I'm hoping that 2007 will be three times that!!! :)

Speaking of washer fun, Tucson 2007 is less than 3 months away! Now I'm getting excited...

Nothing exciting. My friend's went to a Hamilton Loomis concert with their Mardi Gras Crewe. I stayed home and watched Cars, followed by The Sum of All Fears. Lots of fireworks outside, and gunfire: several automatic pistols and a few rifles fired - I know the difference between the sounds of guns and fireworks. Hope they fired into the ground, or fired blanks. I stayed away from windows.

Had an interesting beer (OK, I had several): Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale. Aged on bourbon barrel oak and vanilla beans. Not bad for an Anheuser-Busch product. Also had a pint of Guiness.

For dinner I had a twice-baked potato and a standing pork rib roast with sweet Chipolte glaze, courtesy of our HEB grocery store.
 
Went to a party last night. A friend has a 5,000 sq ft. house, and always has a huge NYE party.It was a lot of fun, and I saw friends there that I have not seen for a long time. Was great to talk to them again. Usually about 100 people attend, and it gets pretty wild before the night is over. I left about 11:30, as someone was coming over to my house.

I live in the hood, and we have a lot more gunfire than fireworks here. We get the same thing on July 4th. I do not worry about being close to the windows, or being outside, as the guys are simply firing into the air, not at anyone or at homes.

Am taking xmas decorations down today, and will make chicken for dinner. That is about it for me.

I have so much food in this joint that it's sad.

I have a tendency to overestimate sometimes....

And my mother is adorable...she left two huge sacks of bird food by the door, for the bird feeder!!

Sadly the only one i ever see any more is Val... Chrystal and i aren't friends any more (she choose drugs and i choose not to be her friend) and she broke up with eddie about the same time, who is off in lala land and is very emotionaly strung, so we see each other, but not often maybe like 1a few times year.. Sam moved and shes doing well but still she's in California right now... Val works third shift so i don't get to see her often, btu i still see her some... Boy those times where fun..Oh well

BTW-Thanks for reminding me..I need more gold fish
