whats everyone favorite detergent

I have switched around

To find the "Best" detergent. I have tried Cheer, Gain, and several store brands. I always come back to Tide. My mother swears that Tide is harsher on the clothes and causes more fading--too bad It doesn't leave dirt, grease and ring-around the collar either.

I put my whites in with just warm/cold wash, but use the auto-soak cycle. I feel if it stays in contact with the detergent a little longer it has a better chance of coming clean. it seems to work.

Kirkland Free and Clear powder.

Cheap, it works, and it's highly rated by Consumer Reports...their tests showed it cleaned as well as Tide.

I would like to try Arm and Hammer HE, but none of my local stores carry it, not even Wal-Mart and they usually have everything.
