I do believe that you are correct.

Platinum band it is!

Nice find. I love the elctric percs. I have been collecting the different patterns and I have yet to find the Platinum Band.

OMG!!

Do you know how rare that pattern is?
It is called "Platinum Filigree" to be exact. It was introduced as a promotional gift line for 1966 only. It's target customer was an upper income consumer.

Great score!!

You will love that electric perc Veg...I use mine everyday, Thanks Andrew!!
Do you have the cord?

email me.

"An upper income consumer"

made me think right away of Hyancinth Bouquet and how Veg may be her Aworg equivalent. ;'D

Onslow certainly won't be getting any executive-level coffee out of that pot--nor will Darrel or Michael.

Rare, eh? Great--I slapped it up on ebay yesterday to see what the traffic would bear.
Correction--I put the parts on ebay because you can't sell the pots themselves wink wink nudge nudge say no more.
The inside of the pot is pretty disgusting--coffee-stained all the way to the chrome band and resistant to a good long soak-perk cycle with Cascade. I'd use some oven cleaner on it if I weren't selling it (and were'nt so lazy.)
The pattern is okay (though I agree it looks like a pornstar tattoo), but it's not Cornflower, and we all know that Cornflower and only Cornflower is the One True Pattern.
And speaking of cornflowers, there was a tragic accident in my kitchen the other day. As I was preparing some pork chops to go in the pressure cooker, I struck the edge of one of my Centura plates with the innards of the above coffee pot and broke the plate. I thought Centura was supposed to be indestructible? I have a commercial with a bull running amok in a china shop demonstrating how tough Centura is.
Can I sue for false advertising?

I remember when all those were recalled and Corning imediately haulted production. The claimed that the handles were glued on and some had come off scolding their owners!I had plenty of them in the years I have been collecting and not one of them, electric or rangetop ever lost their handles. We too had Centura wear. When she first bought it,my grandmother"Mado" decided to show it off to us.I came home from school and went in the kitchen to get a coke.Mado had a plate in her hand and dropped it onto our floor. It rolled and bounced but didn't break. My brother came home and she did the same thing with a saucer. It too bounced and didn't break. My sister came home and my grandmother handed her one of the bowls telling her to drop it onto the floor. She did and it shattered to smitherines!!My brother,my grandmother and I looked onto the floor in complete shock and amazement. My sister looked at us like we were nuts and went to go play Carrol KIng while she smoked her pot.Of course,Mado went and swept up the leftover pieces and returned them for a new bowl not saying a word about how it happenen. We had the entire set for a family of twelve for decades!I think she bought them at The Hecht Company who at the time were owned by The May Company.

Stains on the inside

Veg you might try a cup of bleach just in the pot alone along with hot water. If that doesn't work you could try Dip it.

crash!

Oh Centura will certainly break if hit or dropped just right. I've had a number of pieces break in different situations - one even took a chunk of the Maytag Dutch Oven porcelain top and broke the dish!

You're right, Veg, Cornflower is the OTP of Corning, but I do like that White Coupe as well. We still need to get our tatoos - the Cornflower would make a nice band around the arm.
