I finally got my Kenmore Ultra Fabric Care washer/dryer set from 1994. I just replaced the pup today with a brand new one. I'm not sure what this noise is? I'm thinking it may possibly be the transmission? Any help would greatly be appreciated. I do plan on making this machine like new. The noise kind of sounds like the agitator dogs, but I don't think it's that, since I just replaced them.

Everything is original on the machine, which is nice considering it's age (1994). I was thinking it might be the motor coupler going bad. But that's ok because when I rebuild the transmission, I'll be replacing that anway.

Could be bad bearings, although I've heard that is more of a screeching rather than the squeak this machine is making. I'd be inclined to think it's coming from the gearcase.

Are you going to just replace the entire gearcase, or rebuild that one?

Definitely would recommend replacing the coupler and upgrading to a heavy-duty 6-pad clutch.

Strange noise

It’s not the drive coupling, and probably not the transmission, to me it sounds like something loose getting in the pump and rattling around a bit.

Would recommend not worrying about it just keep using it and see if the problem gets better or worse if it’s something in the pump, it’ll probably go away.

Switching the pump back to the original resolved the issue. I guess the new pump was defective. Oh well. Thanks everyone for your input. It's always super appreciated.
