Saw Christmas movies on one of the Hallmark channels, not Murder and Mystery, but maybe Romance. What's going on? Is this to cheer people in bad times or are they out of other movies like the grocery stores are out of stock? They also have a third one called Drama that often has an episode of The Waltons as I surf past.

Hallmark channel shows christmas movies on Friday nights/Saturday mornings.  I know I watch Lucy at 4am every morning when I'm off work before I go to bed, but Saturdays and Sundays it's not on.  They have to keep promoting so people will buy those ornaments you know.

The 2020 Hallmark Christmas Ornament catalog came in the mail today. My wife already has her list ready to take to the local Hallmark store when they reopen. I'm retired from Crayola which is one of their subsidiaries so we have to keep keep the money flowing. They give it to me. I give it back.

Those "the dog who ate crismus" and "the crismus we ate the dog" movies are big sellers in the old folks homes.  They're like old folks food, no chewing and no flavor.  Even the titles put you to sleep.  I think that's the idea.

Anyhow, that's who Hallmark has chosen to cater.  Evidently it works for them and like any other network they don't care about what works for the rest of us.

BTW I miss Lucy when it's not on (except for the Europe ones I can do without).  Back in the day there was only one TV and only 3 channels and you watched what your parents watched, Lucy was the only show I could make any sense out of.

Actually, I love DESI.  IMO he's the entertaining one.

The European Lucy’s:

Only the counterfeit money episode in France where Lucy needs a series of interpreters to get her out of trouble over the (in German: Kounterfeit) money and of course the grape-stomping at the winery in Italy were really funny... “I don’t care for them”, a quote from a fan, my-late Mom about that part of 5he series...

What's funny to me is in the Hallmark movies either the man or the woman works as a waitress or just doing odd jobs yet they always live in a big fancy house somewhere in the suburbs.

Or they own a big horse farm or ranch or winery but are having financial problems and the guy comes to the rescue.

Ditto about Lucy in Europe.  The Scotland one is my least favorite.  I liked the Lucy Desi Comedy Hour post ILL.  They never show them, but I have the on DVD.  The very last episode with Ernie Kovacs...Lucy filed for a divorce the next day.

Those movies are on all year long. My great grandma is 95 years old. Almost every night, she watches those Christmas movies on the hallmark channel. As you would expect, nobody else stays in the living room longer than 5 minutes when they're on. Try to change the channel and she will wrestle you to the ground for that remote!
