A big thank you goes out to Doug (cycla-fabric) who was very kind to send me brochures for the last of the Philco top loading washer models. These are the 1967 "G" line and I know these were available in 1968 as well, possibly as late as 1970. The 1966 Duomatic brochures I posted a couple of months ago did not have the "Ford" name next to Philco, but these '67 brochures do which is interesting to note. Doug also sent me the Dryers and Dishwasher brochures as well! These are super cool.

With help from club members we are slowly but surely filling in the gaps on Automatic Ephemera of the Philco years of automatic washers, I really appreciate you guys sending me this stuff to scan. Hopefully one day we will be able to see every model of all brands!

Thank you Doug, for filling in the gap! I had found several Philco brouchres a few years ago, but was missing the G line washers/dryers. Thank you for sending them to Robert, and for Robert on adding them to AE.org!

I believe the only missing items from during the Philco-Ford years for laundry is the '65 F line washers and the '67 H line Duomatics. Anyone out there have either on hand that would be willing to send it in as a contribution to the cause?

Top loaders

Were D&M as well. I have an Philco owners manual that is the same as all the other D&M machine manuals. I also have a Westinghouse brochure showing a D&M top loader. Funny thing is that in Canada, Westinghouse continued their own design of top loading dishwashers.

Thanks, Robert. From the washer brochure, I can see the model we had was a W-2G2. It must have been purchased sometime around the fall of 1969, as we moved into a new house at Christmas 1968 and had an old Westy slantfront for a time. It kept breaking down (in addition to leaking and walking across the floor when it did function), and I recall spending a lot of the next summer vacation at a laundromat. So I hope that helps a bit with knowing how long they were on sale.

The Philco was like manna from heaven after the Westy.
