What the hell is it? I try to zoom in and the writing gets fuzzy. Looks like handy something or other. I'm guessing it's a table top washer of some sort or a way out, spaceage, dough mixer. age? By the construction and styling, I'd say early 60s tops, but I'd bet on earlier.

its a Handyhot table top washer

I have one of those in my collection It is a Handyhot table top washer from the late 40's early 50's. you set the agitator in place in the tub put in water, your detergent and clothes, the top is the motor housing, you set the gear on top of the agatitor to close the lid, plug her in and wash away, these machines were popular after world war 2.

They were popular in the late 40s-early 50s since boiling was still recommended for diapers and these could be placed on the stove. They were especially popular with young families in apartments where the family laundry was done in communal machines while the baby things were done in these little machines. We had one which seemed larger than this, but I remember it fitting in one of the set tubs in our basement in Illinois. I also remember my Uncle Murray carrying it up from the basement when he and my aunt were leaving for California. He almost tripped on the cord as he was climbing the stairs.
