I've been posting here about two months, and I love it!. I was just curious when Robert created the site and when there became a functional amount of members?

check it out, Tuts, I just went looking for you and what I f

Serendipitously, it even has a pic of the Frigidaire Control Tower as the first post-embedded pic, same machine we're seeing gorgeously in Rick's Easter Eggs Frigidaire thread in the Imperial Forum.

Baby Aworg arrived at 5:30 ish on September 4, 2004, with Robert kicking and articulate. Wonder if it was a Labor Day Event?

Actually we've been around since May of 2001, Applianceville was the precursor to the Discuss-o-Mat which was a non threaded discussion forum, we also changed names them from classicappliances.com to automaticwasher.org. I rewrote the forum in 2004 to become the Discuss-o-Mat.

If you look at the Way-backmachine you can see some early incarnations of this site...

In The Beginning...

...Robert created the site and the info.

And the site was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the collectors. And the spirit of Robert moved upon the face of the Internet.

And Robert said, Let there be discussion. And there was discussion.

And Robert saw the discussion, that it was good, and Robert divided the discussion from the info.

And Robert called the discussion Applianceville, and the info he just called info. And the discussion and the info were the first iteration.

And Robert said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the discussion, and let it divide the discussion from the discussion.

And Robert made the firmament, and divided the discussion which was about automatic appliances from the discussion which was not about automatic appliances, and it was so.

And Robert called the firmament the Sandbox. And the Sandbox and Applianceville were the second iteration...

I have been a member here since March of 2003. This is my favourite site, and I have made many friends here. I guess it will be my 5th anniversary this month! <:
