where are you from/how far from me?

I wonder if any members are close to me. I am on an island in the middle of the mid west known as the Black Hills of South Dakota. It is 500 miles across the prairie to anywhere. Im wondering if any of you are just down the street, you know like Robert is just over in that suburb of Minniapolis
just down the street? Denver anyone?, Nebraska at least? anyone? anyone?

Feeling isolated are we?
I sort of had that feeling all the years we lived in Calgary. Great city and we loved it but sometimes, not always, I felt like we were so so far away and there weren't really any other cities close by other than Edmonton 3 hrs north and none too interesting. You could drive forever south or east and hardly see anything but prairie. I liked that in a way as well.
Here it's so different, you take a drive out in the country but there are no vast stretches of nothing, there's always farms around small towns/villages every few miles.
I drove south down thru N and S Dakota a couple of times heading east. I always always enjoyed those drives seeing how the geography/landscapes slowly changed from one area to another.

I'm close to Bugsyjones. I live in West Wichita, about 20 miles from the Mecca of Andover. Giggle.

Wichita is the Air Capital of the World, so everyone is laid off right now. We used to be a contender.

Covington, TN, the seat of the county north of Memphis. My wife and I both commute to Memphis. I have been unemployed for a while, so I'm not driving in, and I know what you mean by feeling isolated.

Just got a job after 9 months of being a house husband & traveling ... Hawaii was stunning... Providing the Aust $$ keeps its head high, I will be back soon.
