Hey fellas,

I'm working out a plan of action to resurrect my 1954 Westinghouse Laundromat L-6 that hasn't been used since 1965... Since this is my first major rebuild I am not 100% sure where to start. I have my ideas, but I figured I'd see what the experts recommend. Where do I start?

I'd start with at least three Xanax, Will!

Wishing you all the best on your first major rebuild. Just keep thinking of how beautiful that classic Laundromat will look when you're finished. May the angels of washer restoration watch over the proceedings.

:)

oooooohhhh looks like fun to me.. take your time dont rush all good things come in time.. if you need a copy of the sevice manual mail me

Thanks fellas. I made a mistake on the model number. It's a LB-6M. I guess I was tired when I was typing last night.

Chris, I would be interested in any info you can provide. Thanks so much.

Days? Heck, if you're really lucky, it'll be fun for months... (ducks and runs)

They really aren't bad machines to work on - the worst possible issue I can imagine is a leaky tub or a totally messed-up speed changer. You'll likely run into some issues with the water valve, but if you are careful, you should be able to clean it and preserve all three wash temperatures!

I've got LOTS of pictures of the various stages of work on an earlier L5 and my current CLB-6, so if you ever might need one, please let me know!

yea well paul is right more than a few days. I have an L5 that took a few years till I could find a good changer but after that its been good paul just finished his he will be a great souce of info. but well get you there have no fear.. this is a pic of my set the kenn set in the back has moved on
