I've a 1999 Crosley Heavy Duty 20 washer. I understand it's a rebadged Norge. Once I got it up on some "independent suspension" so it wasn't digging a hole through the linoleum (softish frame floor/old house) it's worked beautifully EXCEPT for sometimes I get COPIOUS amounts of lint in the wash. I'm assuming since this is not a filter-flo or the like, that it has some sort of built in lint trap, and that lint trap probably has never been cleaned and isn't self flushing. How do I go about looking for and cleaning that little puppy?

Not sure if this machine has the filter screens under the agitator, I'm betting not. Even if present, they are of questionable value. Are the agitator fins all smooth? No cracks or nicks in the base, fins or up the shaft of the agitator? How about the tub? Even a small nick or sharp edge can cause excessive wear and linting of some fabrics. If all is well with the agitator and basket inside the machine, try reducing the wash-time a bit and make sure to sort the linters from the takers.
