Okay I have a motro hier from a Siera build in Italie begin 1980. The washer does tumble but does not spin. The motor doesn't turn. I figured it out it could be the brushes. But I can't open the motor and I don't find the brushes at all! ;)
Can you guy's help me!

Ps I unscrewed the 3 little screws but, it's like everything is pressed together... can't get it open.

OK an induction motor? Didn't knew they used them in 1980:p srry guys. How do I know that the capacitor works well, it looks fine, seen exploded one's in earlier machines, but this one looks fine. Thanks for the help Seamusuk and Zodawash.

I'd just go ahead and change the capacitor. If it's as old as the machine is, it's almost certainly about gone.

Hi askomiele

Some suggestions - check maybe a wire is broken - likely where wires join to the motor.

Is there a "no spin " button that could be pressed, or broken? (the button could be marked permanent press or drip dry)

Possibly broken timer?

Chris.

PS: That motor appears to be identical to the ones used in Australian Hoover Zodiac 480 and 490 series.(1980s) The motors used in Hoovers are labelled "Nuova Ibmei" brand.

Hay, well re-examend the washer again. I controlled the capacitor, works fin, all wires are good connected, timer works finen no 'no spin' button... conclusion, the motor is broke. When I controlled the motor again, it seemed that the currect flow is broke. Don't like rewiring it so she's up for parts for my other machines... Thanks everybody you've all been a great help!!!
