A co-worker of mine has brought a house, and saw this stove on Crag list and she wants to buy this for her new home. She is on LP and the stove now is hooked up to Nat gas. She wants to see if she can get an LP kit, or you know how if this can be changed over?

She said this is a Kenmore.

Converting A 50s Gas Range To Propane Operation

There is NO KIT that can still be bought from the manufacture for a range this old, that said a qualified technician can convert a range like this with parts that are available through various sources. This range may even already have adjustable burner orifices so few if any parts may be required, but she has got to find a qualified person to do it.

Just A Note of Caution  All gas ranges operated on propane are more dangerous than when used on natural gas, also a electric range makes even more sense when you consider the high cost of propane.

Thanks,

She kinda made a point, she said wasn't a lot of the stoves back in the days were LP, then switched over to Nat Gas? I told her, I wouldn't know for sure..

She texted me tonight and found a site on these old stove, and there maybe a chance she can get one changed over. She is aware of the "danger" of LP vs Nat, but she not worried about it.
