Calypos Washer ?

Martin that is not actually a Calypso washer, lol. Sears dropped the Calypso name as the name was becoming a liability to sales. I do believe that the model you just picked up may be the best of these machines as they made several durability improvements in this one, and if Brain L doesn't grab it he is missing out.

hey santa clause im looking for whrilpool cabrio since you seem to have a in with the machine gods man you have some luck im sure Brian has a truck already he said he coming tonight LOL!!

Questions.......

changed the pump, still no go.......

Whats the sequence for the Diagnostic mode.....for this model a web site claimed to hit DELAY and VOLUME back and forth twice until 5 seconds shows up in the screen, and then hit WATER TEMP, 00 should be displayed, and then hit EXPRESS wash......no deal......

I want to try kicking in the pump manually......this machines function is a little different than the Whirlpool KQ2

thanks for any help

So it's not the pump, so let's see. They did say to check for clogs to it that check ball valve area and sump for obstructions as well. Is it the pump isn't even turning on? All the stuff I seem to find is all Whirlpool, other than that one article I sent over last night. I will try and look some more, maybe someone else has any ideas?

The original pump seemed fine....but then again I had ones get stuck from just sitting, or sand and threads wrapping around the impellor.....this is the new designed pump...all-n-1...

but no movement from the pump at all.......

we may be looking at board issues...anyone have spares or a parts machine?

model 110.25062500
serial CS3907294

You're saying the one you put in is the new design, or they both were the new design? Aren't these 120v motors that can be test with a wire. Not sure if I read that somewhere correctly last night.

Still cannot find another procedure list for tests. I'm surprised the one I sent didn't work right.

yeah, both pumps are the new design......considering this is a 2006, it has all the updates and newest design corrections....there are a few things I can spot right away as updated compared to my Whirlpool, yet both around the same year....one main thing is the outter tub, although plastic, has a wrap around insulation jacket, to keep the water hot....

one thing I can't find is the schematics normally inside the cabinet.....

don't give up hope Brian....this thing is too new to not be able to find parts....

we've only started on this thing......

I won't give up

I am so grateful to have someone so kind as to pick one up for me, and now spending fixing time on it, all because I said I wanted one. And a steal at $65 nonetheless. Hopefully that other URL helps you out a bit more.

UPDATE.....

OK...was getting no where with the diagnostic funtioning as required.......

blind as a bat....I could not find the schematics in the cabinet or under the control panel...as in mine........

went to pull the front panel ou to start putting this thing back together.....and there it was, stuck onto the panel..........

BUT..it says "for service technician only!".....well, he ain't here...SCREW him!

followed the directions.......unplugged everything in the control panel, replace everything again, power it up, and start hitting the "dance" keys....everything fired up, and it started pumping.......

Well....so far this is the second time I am running this load thru, no detergent, but its loaded with it inside, really needs a scrub and flush, a few cycles should do it.......but crossing my fingers, so far so good......

WHO'S YOUR DADDY NOW, BRIAN?

Think we could now sell this to the highest bidder?.....since Brian isn't ALL that interested......

WAIT!....didn't you have some rule about a Jeep pulling up in front of your house with machines on a trailer?......

can you see it now....Brian hugging a machine on his front lawn....what will the neighbors think?......

get a room.......

you know this machine does not vibrate like the GE FilterFo you were riding at my house.......

Well I never! lol

Well yes I did, but this one would be in the back of the Jeep, right? Only the best ride for my machine. Remember, it is a finicky Calypso. They're high maintenance.

The neighbors are already thinking, it's too late to worry about that.

We do have a room already, but it's gonna make me lug it there before we go any further.

Riding your Filter-Flo? I was merely enjoying it's massaging benefits on my sore butt from sitting in the car for 3 hours. You did say the Calypso has springs on it that makes it "bounce". That sounds like fun.

OK....more to do.......first lifted the top, removed the splash shield, and balance ring.....the muck and sludge was horrible......now its all scrubbed and bleached out, the water fall tube is now attached to the outter tub(which it wasn't).....all back together......its one happy camper!

of course, you know me and my little tricks, add the lid switch override...*hidden behind secret squirrel panel*......

AND Waa-Laa.......Niagra Falls.....look Ma, no hands!.......all cycles working so far.....and hes now ready for delivery, although I had a talk with him, and he does like the idea of Brian's house, but concerned of his eyes being too far apart.....lol......I feel a B-Slap comming on...gotta run

not to mention, a Modern Machine in Brian's house....watch out for Tremmors...run for your lives!

Don't let the two meet!

You better not let your resident Whirlpool Calypso see the Kenmore Elite Calypso. It might get jealous thinking that you found a new love from the more "Elite" side of town.

You leave them alone and someone is bound to be a Collapso -cough- Yours! -cough-

PS: Lid switch looks awesome. You know you want to come up THIS weekend to visit me. Or I may have to come down again. Mr. Calypso misses his new owner lol. (We won't even talk about how we haven't met yet.)

Here comes the B-Slap!

Well you know Martin, the poor thing is all confused being in that South Jersey air and water. It's got to come up to the good part, North!

Eyes too far apart eh? I'll remember that one :-P

A modern machine for sure. The only tremors will be from my bouncy living room floor as I keep dragging machines through it. Even Matt was like "So Brian, how new is this machine? 2006 why? You taking one in that new, what about your vintage only rule? Does this mean I don't have babysit it during a cycle now?" Of course I was like, "Oh heck yes, I will still babysit it and so should you. The sacrilege!" I had a little laugh with that.

Well the only answer I could think of, is if I have to have one HE washer, this is the one I want. No front loaders. It's very unique, just like the 1-18 I have, so why not.

StainTreat option.......back and forth, HIGH speed spin and nutation, the whole time being flooded with suds and minimal water........I don't even have that on mine....curses

Ext Spin and Extra Rinse option....
push pad once for ExSpin, again for ExRinse, again for both, and again for OFF

Normal wash.....Wash and 3 rinses in 43 minutes, ExtSpin adds 3 more minutes to the last spin...

ExpressWash.....total time 22 minutes.....not bad for either one of regular loads

the longest is HeavyDuty and WhitestWhites.....65 minutes....StainTreat can be turned off...but with it on, Wash time alone is 23 minutes

SaturatedSoak.....adds 16 minutes to any cycle.....load spray and spin, plus periods of wash action.......

800RPM final spin speed

He's been getting a workout

I see someone has been putting the machine through it's paces. Seems to be performing admirably. Not too bad on the times either for an HE. I could live with that. I would most likely be using normal with no extras for most items anyway.

That spin speed ought to leave the clothes pretty well spun. Isn't the 1-18 the same RPM too?

I'm so excited and anxious to see it lol. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas day.
