Oh, if you have to send the article via regular mail don't bother, you had to mail it to Italy, I'm just curious to see why hotpoint was at the very bottom all the times while Indesit ranked 3rd in the driers, that isn't bad for a cheap brand.

the article says "although Indesit scored 92% for reliability, only 24% of their owners would recommend their dryer to a friend"

In contrast Miele at the top scored 94% for reliability and Hotpoint, at the bottom scored 86% for reliability - so in terms of the driers, there isnt too much in it really

Hotpoint and Indesit dryers

Strange about that - both Hotpoint and Indesit dryers are made in the same factory (same parts too I guess) in Yate a few miles away from those of us in Bristol...

Thank you for sharing the information. I thought WHICH did not like Miele washers. I guess their readers do. Did the article say if any of the machines available in the UK were made in China? Sad about the Hotpoint. Was Hotpoint somehow related to Creda at one time? One thing I liked about WHICH was their honesty about washers they tested in the 80s when they said that none was really very good at rinsing. I hope things have improved. At least it has with the Mieles, or maybe I should say it did. I think your Mieles can do more than the last 5 & 6 kg 220 volt machines offered for sale after the W1986. The last models could not even be set for an extra rinse and spin or even a spin only. Sad.

Choice results out soon too.

Our consumer magazine called Choice, is releasing their current results for 43 washers in the January edition as well, so I am looking forward to getting it and having a look, however it usually tends to be a bit predictable with front loaders coming out on top, actually some time ago I e-mailed them to ask why they do not include twintubs in these tests and the reply was that because so few people have or would buy them, they are not worth including, I almost cancelled my sunscription but then I thought about it, and actually I do enjoy reading it, so I guess I will just have to keep the benefits of a twinnie to myself L.O.L.L.O.L.
Cheers folks.

Signing up for the 30 day free trial

I'm not sure about this but if you sign up for the 30 day free trial online is might show this report. I know you can just leave it at the end.

Thanks Chris for these results, Miele are at the top which I expected.

Who do you believe?

It's interesting to see Which placing Hotpoint consistently at the bottom of the reliability pile whilst they appear to be trading heavily on the fact that Readers Digest readers vote them the "most trusted brand". I do wonder how much longer such a polarised state of affairs will continue - I'm guessing your average Readers Digest reader has experience of the pre-Indesit takeover models. What will happen once the current batch with its checkered reputation works its way through?

Personally speaking, I'm not terribly sad to see Hotpoint at the bottom - it would be a refreshing change if their near monopoly was loosened and we could look forward to a future where not every second person has a Hotpoint (or so it seems)! Apologies to those rooting for the 'point BTW - just an opinion after all.

At least Hoover can raise a smile for not coming totally last as seems to have been the case in recent years!
