Well, our new LG front loader was great while it was lasted. We sold our house with everything in it.

Our current rental has an older LG waveforce set. It's not my favorite. The washer struggles with turnover, some stains remain on my clothes and require re-washing, but it also leaves a musty smell. I have to pop my laundry into the dryer as soon as the wash is done, else the musty smell will come through my clothes while wearing them. Gross!

I've tried those washer cleaning packets, which helped some, but I assume there's fabric softener sludge under the impeller. Are there any ways to get this thing a little cleaner without taking it apart?

Also, if anybody has one of these and has found a way to program the cycles for better washing, that would be a big help. I use the water plus button, which helps some.

TIA

The interior of the outer tub and exterior of the inner basket are surely covered with residue. Removing the impeller won't get you access to those areas, further disassembly is required.
