That wash arm with the circular sprayer is the one-year-only Hotpoint assembly and the round sprayer was red in color. Then they found a way to do it cheaper. I have never seen one in the flesh or metal so to speak, but the whole pump for these HP machines was right below the wash arm in the sump and was a little plastic thing with a perforated underside to suck up water.

The cycle chart for the GE showed three after rinses which, in later years, was reduced to two.

Thank you Robert, for finding such cool articles such as this! It's very comical for me to see how DW's were such a marvel. I do argue about the husband's motivation for buying one, was to get out of doing dishes, as especially in the 50's, that's why you had so many kids. I know that was true in our house, an alien in our kitchen, was my father any where near it! lol. Thanks again Robert your the bomb!

Those Hotpoints wash well, but you better buy some earmuffs because they sound like a garbage disposall full of tin cans running!!LOL
