Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Tom, There is ONE PowerClean built-in (DU930) and ONE portable PowerClean (DU940) by Whirlpool. The other's are dura-wash based lower models. Also the Estate TUD6750. Sears has model # 13592 (white) & 13599 (black), 13594 (Bisque); and 13593 (Stainless & Black) These are the ONLY Real, TRUE, Legitimate PowerCleans marketed today!!

Other than the long wash times (about 100 minutes is usual), I've been very pleased with my Bosch 43C. I got it for all of $360 at Sears - it was a customer return that hadn't yet made it out to the Outlet. List was something like $550, but I think it's probably worth even that.

Prior to that I had a MOL Frigidaire that was a perpetual disappointment. Really shoddy rack roller design - the upper rack would fall off its tracks if you looked at it the wrong way. Plus various parts kept on failing. Initially I regarded this as an opportunity to learn how to repair the machine. Finally when the main pump went out I ditched the bitch and got the Bosch. I second the advice to steer clear of Frigidaire dishwashers.

Of course I also picked up a '58 KA portable, which washes about as well as the Bosch, in about 45 minutes. However it uses about twice as much water and probably more energy as well. The KA is more finicky about loading and the Bosch probably does a more thorough job of sanitizing (internal heater). I also have a KA 17A built-in in storage... seems to be in perfect shape. They don't build them like that any more.

We finally bought a dishwasher!

We finally bought a brand new Whirlpool model #DU980PWPQ built-in standard tub dishwasher from Sears, is that one any good?

model # correction

I mis-posted the model # of that Whirlpool dishwasher we bought, instead of posting it as DU980PWPQ which is incorrect, I should've posted it as DU930PWPQ.
