Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Steve, the motor reverses. It has two timer increments per fill. The first one is fill. The 2nd increment starts pump while still filling. They wre somewhat quiet for their day, but then again, it dind't have powerful washing action--compared to GE, KA, and WP at the time, and not to mention RotoRacks.

Thank you all for the information. This has been a tremendous help.

If you have a dishwasher like this (built-in or stand alone) please post some pictures.

Thanks

Mischa

frigidaire dishwasher

NeptuneBob you are right. In the 90's Frigidaire dishwashers at that time were made by D and M. They were made to look something like what we see with the fixed tower on the rack. In fact was bought by WCI in the 90's. I had a White Westinghouse dishwasher in my condo that at the time I didnt know was similar to the Frigidaire PowerWasher series that came out in the late 80's and early 90's. I got rid of that machine for a Maytag. The White Westinghouse was a good machine..had the porcelain tank and the tower on the rack and the plastic wash arm. No top arm. And no filter just the huge screen in the back of the tank to catch large food pieces. That series was the last of the Frigidaire made dishwashers. Didnt clean all that great..but with the new enzyme detergents out there it more than likely would have been good. But I got rid of it before the new Cascade came out...my timing is just wonderful I must say.
In the mid to late 90's I noticed that the new Frigidaires were looking alot like Dand M..plastic tanks and very similar motors and wash systems. I remember going to an appliance dealer in Schaumburg when I lived in IL and they had the plastic clear front so you could see the wash action of the new sytem..fixed tower that they said was Frigidaires patented design. Made for an interesting watch.
