Just what the title says. I own a 2007 Kenmore Elite Oasis and a 1998 Kitchen Aid Prestige dryer.

By the way, if I could exchange both of my appliances I would get a Fisher & Paykel Aquasmart/Aerosmart.

Yes it does dry nicely. We have had no over dried clothes with it. We had a Whirlpool gas dryer before that, bought it in 1986. We replaced it because the clothes were coming out smelling a little toasted. We use the Cotton or PermPress heat setting and set the cycle control between Optimum Dry and More Dry and the clothes come out dry and fluffy and need little ironing. With the high speed spin of the washer, towels dry in no time. One load is dry before the end of a washer load.

I was briefly checking out the F & P at Sears a while back and opening the FL dryer seemed to reveal that it was merely a GE dryer. Similar filter and everything. Is that what F&P is?
Why is the Auqasmart so good?

washer and dryer

I have a '97 Maytag Dependable Care washer and an '06 Dependable Care dryer as my daily drivers. For fun, I use an '87 Maytag (bought it used last year...looks like new)

We just purchased a Fisher & Paykel Aquasmart washer and Aerosmart dryer. They are outstanding performers. Here's hoping we don't suffer the problems others have reported.

Well Frigi and Bob your machines are lined up nicely as is expected here to be a member.
One for washing, one for drying and one for folding.

surely someone could invent this?

WasherTalk, F&P's frontload dryer in the U.S. is sourced from GE (or Camco), that's the only connection with GE. F&P's "native" dryers for the NZ/Aus market are/were smaller capacity, sometimes wall-mounted. I figure the scenario went that they needed a larger-size unit for the U.S. market when their washers were introduced here, so they made a deal with GE, for whatever reasons.

Re: My Daily Drivers:

Are my LG Compact Combo, with a Kenmore Portable on top of it. I found that using the rubber safety boots, like on Crutches, on the Dryer Legs, it keeps the Dryer in place on top of the LG Combo, even with a lot of Vibration of the higher 1000 & 1400 RPM Spins and a slightly Off-Balanced Spin as well. They sit on a very heavy Dolly, with Locking Wheels, that I had special made for them at a local Welding Shop. The cost was $250.00 for the Dolly, well worth it too. The owner and one of his heaviest Employees both stood on the Dolly after it was completed, including the Wheels, they both weigh up to at least 250 to 280 pounds each.

I told the Owner, that the Dolly needed to support the Combo at approx 190-pounds and with Water and Laundry, possibly up to 300-pounds.

My other normal use Machines, but not at the time are a 1997 Maytag Neptune "3000-Series" Set {original set, but 2nd edition of them} with a Gas Dryer.

Peace and great Laundry Days, Steve
