Whirlpool Belt Drive Slowing Down in Spin?

I came across a video that I thought was interesting. Prior to 27:33 the machine is in drain, but when the machine shifts to spin at 27:34 the wig-wag appears to slow down? Is this actually happening or is it just me? Wouldn't the clutch stop the motor from slowing down?

Just something I noticed that I was not expecting and don't think I've seen before.

I'm placing my bet on you, 100% agree. Looking at the vid again the tub seems to shack so much at the start of spin instead of doing so latter.

Also, am I correct to assume the wig-wag cams need some grease?

Since I’ve replaced the clutch, it no longer does that. Works much better than the old one did, that’s for sure. Nice thing is you can adjust the clutch on these belt drives vs the direct drives and since Whirlpool no longer makes parts for the direct drive (at less that I am aware of), it basically will be the end of the line since they won’t be available anymore unless someone makes spin clutches for them again.

Yes the clutch is grabbing as Glenn mentioned and then the belt is slipping.

The clutch tension is not adjustable on a belt drive machine you can adjust the gap but that does not change the tension.

There are far more parts available for the direct drive machines than belt drive machines, in Reality getting parts for either one it’s not gonna be a problem for the for seeable future.

There are also a lot of companies making aftermarket parts for the direct drive machines.

BTW, just some words of wisdom to channel owners: Limit commenting on other channels. YouTube algorithms take down any account without warning if it misidentifies code words or trolls flag your comments (as they typically do) enough times. Even though you have not violated the terms of service. YouTube isn't a kind or fair place sadly. Also back up your videos on a hard drive or non-Google platform. With that said your correct, you can get away without heating during the fall in mild climates. But that takes all the fun out of being cozy.

Pre 1966 machine?

That machine must be from 1965 or older. As best I know, it was the 1965 models that last had a 4 minute first spin.
