Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I received all the seals needed.
At the end I have ordered the bearing kit.
And the 91939 separately, though by removing the old 91939 seal from the spin tube two metal bands came out.
Looks like there was another seal under the other one.
Looks like a round one, both were very worn.
By looking online for the 91939 it looks like some contains two parts, others like the one I got just one seal.
By measuring indeed it seems too short.
What do I do now?
I need another seal?

Wig Wag Magnet with Plungers

Thanks for sharing the parts diagram — I am in search of a wig wag magnet with plungers (part number 89814). All the appliance parts online stores come up as NLA. Anyone have one they would like to sell? I am in need of one for my ‘74 Lady Kenmore...

Hi all.
Today I should receive the infamous little seal that I needed to complete this project.
I have a few questions about lubricants and grease.
The seal kit I received talks about having to grease one seal with Rikon grease and another one with turbine oil as some of you also suggested above.
Now of course I don't have nor the Rikon grease or turbine oil.
I don't even know what the equivalent will be for turbine oil over here in Italy because I never heard such a thing and the only thing that pops out googling it is some stuff related to power producing Wind mills Haha...
I know that whirlpool had a part for it and it was a pouch with this oil...But is NLA.
Now for the grease what I got is a kind of anti humidity naval grease that says is good to lube seals and bearings, I guess It Should Be fine.
But the closest thing I have or I can think about turbine oil could be is sewing machine oil...
I have some sewing machine oil here but it's a very cheap kinda dollar store one and very thin...could do?
Suggestions?
Thanks

Rikon is actually Rykon. Sorry I misspelled it.
Bearing+seal kit pamphlet states it should be a pink grease.

I found the zoom spout oil sold in some US appliances part stores indeed, it does not say it substitutes the Whirlpool turbine oil, and the website that used to sell the pouch says there is no known substitute to their knowledge.

I found the zoom spout oil sold here and it is sold as sewing machine oil.
I see there are two variations though, one seem to be clear and another one is yellowish even though looks like both packages calls for them being multi purpose lubes and no apparent differences.
Various brands also....
What I found sold here is the clear one.
Here is where the assumption it may be something similar to sewing machine oil came from.

"No known substitute" ... just refers to an identical or similar packaged alternative for the Whirlpool packaged part-item aimed at appliance servicers.

Turbine oil is a high-quality type of lubricant formulated of a base oil with added corrosion and oxidation inhibitors, emulsifiers, and anti-foaming agents ... suitable for use on high-speed rotating mechanisms.

What is turbine oil?

Oils An d Grease For BD WP Washers

Is nothing special and suitable lubricants can be found easily anywhere in the world.

For oil for the spin tube etc, light motor oil such as sewing machine or bicycle oil is fine, for grease for the seals any automotive wheel bearing grease will far out perform what WP used at the factory, These machines only spin at about 550 RPMs after all.

Thank you John.
I'm trying to fit the new seals but it's very hard and are getting stuck. Trying to push with a piece of tube and hammer but won't budge. And it is just the first one.
The shaft seal I almost broke it too and kinda cracked down the lip but it should work anyways.
I am afraid to break them and if I do I will just give up on this washer and toss it away.
I wasted too much money already and this machine is way too delicate and risky for me.
I can't help but always think how much general electric and others just made things much more smartly and it is painful to say because I love WP/KM style and washing action.
