Yeah, I'm using that awful indoor vent contraption. Only temporary while I break through an exterior brick wall so it can be properly ventilated. The noise you hear is a bad idler pulley, has been replaced.

Thanks DADoES

I still need a few more things to complete the Whirlpool, the aforementioned Dial, rear drum seal and the seal and bearing assembly. I also ordered some Harvest Gold touch up paint.

But WAIT! There's MORE!

Last Sunday I found this little beauty by the compactor of my building...needless to say, another one saved...I present to you a Lady Kenmore Compact Dryer, Mod. # 110.88090800, Serial # M14620853:

Congrats those are very nice dryers. In the early 1980's I lived in New Orleans it was not unusual to see these dryers running on balconies in apartment complexes. It was a time period when surroundings had got bad enough that people were reluctant to use common laundry rooms. But way before most apartments had w/d hookups. They must of sold a ton of them in some regions. alr

The motor was basically seized, just hummed when I tried it.

But a good vacuuming, a blast of compressed air, and a few drops of oil for 1/4 HP motors, it's now spinning like a top.

The Kenmore has so far gotten new casters, a new power cord, and has been mostly cleaned. I've ordered a tune-up kit (Rear roller drums, idler pulley and belt), a door gasket, a door latch and almond touch up paint. Along with the Kenmore was a rather nice, early 80's Hotpoint Side by side refrigerator, in almond too. I also found something rather unusual that I brought home as well. But THAT merits it's own thread.

I will continue to post updates for both dryers.

Some parts arrived today...

The door gasket for the Kenmore, and the Seal Bearing assembly for the Whirlpool...oh and some "Golden Harvest" touch up paint. I thought I was getting NOS paint, but it seems recently manufactured.
