SO the retirement house we may be buying in Denver comes with a WP Duet front loader pair., located in the 2nd floor bedroom area. Any opinions, things to look out for, or known weaknesses? At this point I don't know model #s, how old they may be &c, nor what time period they were made. They look clean, but having always had top loaders these machines are terra incognito, we're not sure what we're looking at. Any info appreciated!

I have a set from 2001 still going-quite large capacity, washer German made dryer is American and usual WP design. Washer motor is 3-phase inverter driven and there is heater. I got washer in non-working order because pressure switch hose had came unclipped and got a hole worn in it... On my 2001,the controls area is black.

Thanks cfz , the control area is white with a black rectangle on the r side over 3 buttons, not our house but will try to get pics of that and d/w and fridge on our next visit to look again. The latter 2 are new, 'tag d/w and FD fridge, top freezer, and new Whirlpool smooth surface elec range, which I'll replace with my beloved '74 FD range if we buy the place. Unfortunately my fave of all time '57 40" double oven GE Stratoliner <----- may not be able to make the trip, sadly. And just had the top surface re-porcelained at great expense too :-((

Heeeer's pix! Ideas on the approx age and any other relevant info? Thanks Bob...
Guess we're stuck with 'em at this point, we put in an offer on the house today and it was accepted.
Movin'to Colorado soon, gonna be a dental floss tycoon... ooops, wrong state.
When these go (hopefully not too soon) I'm thinking' Speed Queen!

That definitely looks like a newer pair than the 2007 Duet HT set we had and loved. It might even be a Duet "Sport" set. I think you'll love those machines as much as we loved ours. They were too big to fit in the laundry room of our next house, otherwise they would probably still be doing the household laundry now.

Thanks! rp so what distinguishes the "Sport" model? (Don't see any racing stripes... lol)
With the price of the long move, new furniture, painting/repairs, new kitchen cabinets (soon), we'll be living with these for quite a while. The BOL 2015 HP TL and 30 yr old WP dryer have been great I must say, but not worth taking.

These were the last new pair I ever bought. I think the marketing department adds the word "Sport" to indicate a cheap version of something with a better reputation -you know, like a Land Rover "Sport". They worked well enough other than a difficult time balancing, and I was happy enough to leave them with the house when I sold it...

The washer & dryer were called "Sport" as it was a smaller capacity 3 cu. ft. true horizontal drum washer, 6.5 cu. ft dryer. They are shallower in depth and usually fit in the same footprint as a direct drive top load washer and companion 27" or 29" dryer. They are no longer available in a domestic model, however; you can get the commercial version washer:

The dryer is a smaller version of the traditional 27" DOTT dryer:

You should find them to be satisfactory!
