This dryer has alot of controls-although not beautiful, it looks like a TOL

Should be either an LDE/I-5800 or LDE/I-7800. I think 5800, so higher models at the time were the 7800, 8800, and 9800.
5800 is standard capacity, 5-temp variable thermostat, Reg & Perm Press thermostatic auto-dry cycles, and timed.
7800 is super-capacity with the "bump-outs" on the rear bulkhead and drum ... and I think had "Supreme" on the console which this one does not.

My mothers 1979 Whirlpool Dryer Model LFI7801 was an Imperial Seventy model not a Supreme….did they change the model name for the 7800 series between the LD and LF series?….PAT COFFEY

LF series was the first electronic control machine, which was called the "Solid State Mark Series." The 2nd-in-line 8800 units were dropped, which put the 7800 2nd-in-line so it became the Imperial.
