Wow!

very impressive, Nick! My bro has a WP dishwasher, I think maybe from the early 2000s, that came with the house. Works wonderful.

Not bad

HI
That look like a good clean wash if a loaded my Miele with out pre-rinsing load like that I think it would block the filter

I Have never Liked that basket-in-door tecknology

Thais just because you never had one, it is by far the easiest loading silverware basket of ANY home DW ever and you can put dozens of long knives servings spoons etc in it and all without getting your fingers wet or messy. You can load by the hand full or drop in one spoon from more than 3 feet above floor level, like I do every morning with my spoon after I stir my cup of hot tea.

I also like the basket on the door. Been using moms WP the last couple of days. It's very easy to load and it's even easier to just grab it and take it over to the drawer to unload all the stuff.

I don't know what they were thinking though when they called the machine Quiet Wash Plus... you can hear it washing all over the house but it works well. It's probably a good 12 years old now.

I'm with Jetcone

I've had the silverware in the door before, and don't like it. I had one, and my mothers current WP has it. I prefer it in the bottom rack because then you can just take a pile or sink full of dishes and start loading the machine up easily without having to move the bottom rack back and forth when you have silverware to load.

WP in door Silver ware basket

It does lift out so it can be loaded or unloaded on the counter top, it also opens when laying flat so it is very easy to sort items as you remove them. I have used almost every brand DW out there and this is far the best design I have ever used.

I remember one of my customers a few years ago who replaced her 15 Year old WP DW and ordered new GE DW not thinking about the SW basket. And after she got the new DW she was horrified that it didn't have an IDSW basket to which she said [ I thought they would all have that by now ]. So she made the store take back the GE and we got her another WP.

The Whirlpool silverware basket on the door actually gives more space in the lower rack. My dishwasher in Omaha had this and I loved it. What I would do to load it was to put it in the sink diagonally in one of the sink bowls since it was a double sink. Made for easy loading. I would also make sure in each compartment there was a good mix of forks, spoons and knives. The front of the lower rack I always put dinner plates so that way the jets get to the basket. The cutlery basket above the silverware basket I wouldn't load with much since in my opinion didn't clean well. So utensils just got loaded into the upper rack.

I personally prefer having a separate sliverware rack on the top.. but if I can't get that, then I have to say that I really like the Whirlpool silverware rack in the door over having the silverware basket in the lower rack.

I will admit that it does have its faults, like when it's not loaded correctly and the spoons get nested together, so that they don't end up getting cleaned. Or sometimes the knives get crud dried on the handle... :/

Small sacrifice for having more room on the bottom rack IMHO!

I wash so many pots/pans, bowls, etc., that opening up space in the bottom rack is far more important to me than to most people. I bought a portable Whirlpool back in 1986 specifically for the in-the-door silverware basket. I echo what others here have said: Properly loaded, silverware comes out clean. I recall there being a few more yibbles left behind compared to an in-the-rack silverware basket, but not so much as to be a deal-breaker.

However, I'm with Bud on this one: I love love love the dedicated silverware rack on my LG. It takes a little longer to load, as you have to place each piece of silverware between tines, but having all that real estate available in the bottom rack is worth that minor incovenience.

Silverware Basket In The Door

When I first saw that design when I looked around my bro's house before we moved anything in, I myself was skeptical of them getting cleaned properly, but after it's first use, I was proven wrong, it did a great job!
