Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Yogi, what are the new extra-fast and normal-slow agitating strokes for your enhanced Kenmore washer...without a tech device I know you cannot tell how fast is the new spins are...BTW, have you seen the video of the 1981 Lady Kenmore Portable washer? It's fast agitating speed use 72 strokes but, the spin speed may be 800 to possibly 1000 RPM's...seen another video of the inside components and the drive pulley was pretty large to my surprise...If there is a pulley that can enhance the Whirlpool 18 lb. Super SURGILATOR and or Double-duty Super SURGILATOR agitator agitating stroke to 72 at best and 75 the highest...safe perfection...but, have that super-fast 800-plus spins...a Spinner is cool to have but, it's a different machine...there's nothing like your 'fav' with it's own kick. Check the video out guys.

Smoochies, is your tan Whirlpool model a 1983 LA5580? If so, it is a super capacity washtub...a scaled down size one. When you install the new 5/8" belt, can you make a full (fill-to final spin) video of the tan washer using the 18 lb. Super SURGILATOR doing a large load of towels and rags like the one with the Double-duty Super SURGILATOR in it? I think the turnover would be better in that one instead of the standard size tub because it has more room to move around in the tub.

2. 25 diameter Pulley

hey yogi I got to agree with you. 2.25 diameter pulley is way too much, so I'm going to downgrade so I am going to downgrade to a 2. 05. And see what I get. I am going to make a video of the 2.25 just for everyones info it's so damn fast I just ate so hard, I could wash a load in it but I won't dare try and spend a load in it again. when I did a test cycle on it with just a few towels and machine ended up walking across my laundry room floor. I have to assume it was spinning at over 600 rpms it sounded like a freaking airplane taking off! unbelievable! but wait to you see the agitation, it's almost scary!

is that the 2.5 or the 2.25?.....

have you tried Gentle Speed?.....with the 2.5, Gentle speed for you would equal Normal speed for everyone else...

nice vid, you should have thrown a few towels in there......

but your right, that is serious Surgilation!

not to mention, whats the pump out like?

someone is having some newly discovered fun......

the pump out is insane.! I've never seen one dr
drain that fast in my life! it's the 2.25 pulley and I did try the gentle cycle which wasn't too bad, not quite normal not quite general sort of an in between like maybe around 54 strokes per minute so a little stronger than general but not quite normal. I did have something in it when I ran the first cycle test but my phone was dead so I couldn't film it, but when it kicked in 2 spin it damn near took off the ground and started to fly! I actually had to lean on it and hold it in place it was shaking so violently.I did think about picking up a 2.5 and running it on gentle just to see how it would react, I'm kinda guessing like your machine on gentle.

I have to agree with you, the 58 inch belt is the way to go, not too much not too little just like right on the sweet spot so I think thats the way I'm going to go outside of just experimenting!

the only way we find out is to experiment....some work, some don't....but we have fun along the way....

just thinking outside the box!.....

try some of the Kenmore agitators in there as well....some may surprise you....

Mark/Akronman did a trick with a piece from a Rubbermaid container, directing the water spray to hit more of the clothes....especially for the spin spray...

got to love his Mark XII washer.....and especially that magic mix dispenser filter

oh, the chance to be there, and see your face, once you installed these pulleys or belts....

and then turned that machine on.....STAND BACK!!!

some say that I am a bad influence.....wonder where that came from?

evil scientist...or Wile E. Coyote...super 'surgilator' genious...lol......

mental more like it.....

I vote for super suurgilator genious, especially for the extra fast spin...there isn't anything that can be done to stabilize the violent shaking from the spins?

Smoochies, you're not making full (wash-rinse & final spin) videos anymore?...with the new 5/8" belt and 75 OPM...and, did you see my post about your 1983 Whirlpool tan LA5580 using the 18 lbs. Super SURGILATOR and the new belt?

haven't had the time to make any more full length videos I'm preparing to go back out on the road for a few weeks.

Martin, you're not a bad influence just an evil genius such as myself and that we both like to tinker with things! yeah definitely was a thrill!

As for my 10 washer, freaking voice recognition, 10 washer not 10 10 tan washer, I will have to look at the model number and post it for you but it is also a rebuilt used machine that I bought at a furniture appliance store in downtown Vero Beach.

Also earlier in this thread someone asked what the buzzing was after the machine filled up on French, not French rinse, what you hear is a tired old timer that runs a little slow that's why some of the spray rinses are erratic I believe. if I set that machine for 10 minutes to wash it can take anywhere from 18 to 20 minutes. I don't know if this is the cause or that is just the way the timer is but it can be erratic from time to time and sometimes it won't move at all but that is few and far inbetween.

As far as the harvest gold and the white machine tho both timers were redone by that guy in Vero and ever since then the spray wrenches have been extra long on them I don't know why but I guess I kinda like it that way anyway. More soap removal, and at the end I just advance the timer and unplug the motor to let it spin longer. but with the new 5h belt, 58inch belt I don't have to do that anymore.!

I will post that model number for you!

Okay and thanks for everything you do for me...I'm not a repair guy/mechanic I just have ideas...you guys get to experiment with and bring to life any ideas you have...very fortunate and really cool...if the rebuilts have new parts and better enhancements then the machine is better than originally made...sooooo cool...If possible before you leave, HOPEFYLLY you can make another full video of the HARVEST GOLD using the (18 lbs. Super SURGILATOR) and new 5/8" belt...if not the harvest gold then the TAN, which is the next super capacity...a large load of towels/rags, sheets, etc)...(BIG CHEESY SMILE)
