Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I'd say 1965 or 1966 because the term "Wash'n'Wear is used throughout the brochure copy any time PPioned. This was the transition time usig both terms. Also because of the colors fawn and blue. 1967 would be the absolute latest.

That Imperial Mark 12 is one beautiful washer!!!! Does anyone actually have one in thier collection? I would love to see some more pics of it. They must have been ridiculously expensive back in the day.

I think RevinKevin has a set of those.

Yes he does... oh wait, that's me!

My set has the optional "Country Squire station wagon look" wood-grain paneling (not to mention the two-way "station wagon tailgate" dryer door)!

Those machines are nice looking, but those woodgrained front panels look so home made! Like, why is the handle not at the top of the door? It makes the machines look redneck.
Sometimes you just wonder why some manufacturers do what they do in the name of style!

Country squire WP washer&dryer set

Hi Kevin your WPs are 1969 models The little crests repeated on the control panels were a 1969 only item, its possible your machines were made in late 1968 if you go by the serial #s like automobiles new models came out in the fall of the year before.

I'd say late 60's at earliest.

All dryers on this ad had the extra large lint screen, which meant they were all of the modern direct-drive blower. Many dryers throughout the 60's still had the belt-driven blower with the short lint screen.

Wow, I think I had that same paneling in my bedroom in the 70s. :) Beautiful set!! Imperial is certainly an appropriate name. Any interior shots? By the way, what is "POD"?
