Lady up the street has offered to sell this to me. She says it was her dads and was never used. Do any of you know the year this was manufactured and what a fair price would be? Or is this a machine I should run from LOL...Thank you guys....Cheryl

It was added to the Sears Website June 2013 to be a product they sold.   Has all the basic you would need--Heavy Wash, Normal Wash, high-temp water head option, sani rinse option.

WP portable tall tub dishwasher

I think this is probably the same one I bought back in July of 2013. I paid $700 for it new at the local independent appliance store. I used it probably twice a week and was always well pleased with the results. It seems to wash thoroughly and doesn't use a lot of water or electricity. I still have it, but my new apartment has a built-in GE somethingorother that is more convenient to use, so there it sits, side by side with the GE Hotpoint. Between the two, I think I prefer my WP portable...

Price: others know more than me here about this, but I would think $200-$300 would be a fair price if it is in good shape.

Thank You all for the info. I have to get up to her house to check it out and possiably take pics. Only thing I know is the model and serial# and that it has a butcher block top. She said it may have been used one time but isn't sure. Shes been storing it in her shed so its been dry but exposed to extreme cold oand heat here in Pa...I understand new hoses will probably be needed, but what do you think about it spending several winters in a flimsy metal shed? Thanks guys Cheryl

yeeeesh.
Had that platform in an apt. once.
It was 'ok.'
More of dish-degreaser.
And it sure ain't gonna pass no corner peanutbutter test :P

This is the current Whirlpool removable filter platform, but I'm still not sure what the official design name is yet. I've seen it referred to as "Tahoe", "Resource Saver", and now "WashRight" recently. It's definitely BOL and probably won't be the quietest thing in the world, but for most users should be a fine machine. As far as I can tell, this model has no diverter valve, meaning both wash arms operate at once. This takes away a bit of spray power compared to the TOL WP I have, but it's in no way anemic, and while it may not take peanut butter out of the bottoms of cups in the corners of the top rack, it should clean fine other wise.

A model similar to this was used in an interior-action video that Reviewed.com did, and also on an episode of Mythbusters to try and "cook" lasagna inside the machine, the latter being slightly higher end as far as controls but exactly the same under the hood.

Haha! I love that episode of Mythbusters.
1. Dishwashers!
2. Alton Brown!

I bed some of our machines would make amazing meals, especially on the Sani settings.

I have the Maytag version, however................

my portable is five years old and has the food chopper and performance is good.
The machine is loud at first and then quiets down while running. I have a high temp wash and heavy, normal and rinse only on my machine. I have the second to last model made with the Maytag name. The one after mine had a sani-rinse as well. The Maytag also has / had a three level wash whereas the Kenmore and WP counterparts only have a two level wash and a filter.
Cannot comment on performance on the 2 level wash machines with the filter, should be satisfactory at best.
Mike
PS....Not real butcher block......cheap looking veneer. My model is white btw.
