Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Have The Washer In Harvest Gold

It's a great little unit but with limitations.

Capacity wise sheets have to be twin or full sized and even then it's only one with perhaps a pillow slip for full load.

Gotta love the three spray rinses in each spin both after the wash and rinse cycles. Don't use FS often so not that bothered by it being diluted by the spray rinses after final rinse.

COMPACT WASHER AND DRYER

The KM dryer is 120 volt and has the electronic sensor dryness system. A neat thing to do with these is convert them to 240 volt and then you have the ES on a faster 240 volt dryer, this combination is not available from the factory.

Cleaning the lint screen in the dryer was  even more inconvenient, IMHO, than a Maytag Halo. Mine was on the floor and im tall i guess if on the rack at eye level it would be easier i am 5-11.  I always used P. press and sometimes only cleaned the filter after a couple of loads doing the towels last.  Mine were 2nd hand and harvest gold but they got me thru nursing school.  They can't be beat if you have no hookups.  The washer spins like a demon, faster than a full size of the day.  alr

I still cannot understand...

Why are people so lazy as to not to have to remove the dryer lint filter after every load? The cleaner the filter is, the easier the dryer will work and the faster the laundry will dry! No "rocket scientist" degree needed. And, to hear that taking-out the filter often wears it out, is just folly & a bad excuse! (: Launderess, a spray rinse after using fabric softener won't negate it's effects whatsoever. It takes detergent to remove the gunk, but I never use that FS crap anyway. Jason

Hello, Dear

You should be able to get more poundage into your WP. I have two flannel top sheets, doubles, that need a freshening--although it seems as if I'll never need them for a winter that will not come--so I'll do them in the WP which is out on the deck and still wash- worthy. Will fill it to max level, start agitation, and feed the sheets in the old-fashioned way. I expect her to take both; will let you know later.

I know you do not overload, but I think you under-estimate what your Pooly can do. The truth, tho, is that I've never tried sheets in the portable, so maybe I'll be back here at tea time, eating humble pie.

GOT TOO HAPPY, half way thru brunch

and went out and did the deed. The sheets are moving perfectly; they're old, tho, and not too thick. It looks as if I could add more. Wish I had pix. It's just that I've used this machine so much for so many different load-types, I knew one sheet would not fill it. Please experiment and let me know.

COMPACT WASHER AND DRYER

These little 1.5 cubic foot capacity BD and DD washers will easily wash a set of king sized sheets and the four pillow case covers that go with in one load. I have had many of these machines over the years and this load works very well in this machine.

The dryer lint filter in these small dryers does not generally need to be cleaned every load. This is especially true if the dryer is being used as a portable with no outside exhaust vent. Reasons, a coerce screened lint filter filters MANY times better if it has a thin layer of lint on it when you start the next load, also these small dryers have a very oversized filter compared to the heat input. Even with all my full sized WP built Gas dryers I seldom if ever clean the dryer filter every load if I have not just dried a hugh load of linty towels etc. Because running the dryer with a thin layer of lint on the screen keeps my exhaust systems much cleaner as the lint filter does it job much better.

dryer filters

I must say I agree with combo52.  With my full size dryer after a load there is barely enough lint on the screen and its almost impossible to get that little amount of lint off.  When I do a load of towels however it always fills it up.  But just doing my laundry I can go three loads before the filter in the dryer needs cleaned.

Lint

Yes, will agree on that point. Just did the laundry last night and with anything but towels the load leaves litte to no lint on the screen. Am very good though about keeping the filter area clean. Even purchased one of those dryer brush things to get deep down and ferret out fluff balls.

As for king sized sheets will give it a go, but again maybe you all have different sheets than we have here. *LOL*
