Timer for a 1965 whirlpool washer

Hi Bob, 12237-1 does not look like a whirlpool part number several months ago you gave me part number 87550 which does look like a good timer number, with the model number of the machine we can confirm the correct part number to be searching for.

LPA4540W0 ... I have the parts diagrams, in a batch of binders bought on eBay some years ago.  Two timer choices ... 87549 (alternate) and 87550 (alternate).  Presumably they are different source manufacturers.

Mid 60s whirlpool washer timer

Hi Bob, I went back and checked through all the rebuilt timers we have and could not find this timer earlier this morning.

There’s a small chance that I have a used one somewhere, but I’m not sure where, this is the bad thing about companies that stopped rebuilding these older timers of course they can’t get the parts for them anyway And there’s no demand virtually.

We’re running into the same thing today. I was looking for a board for a 10 year old Maytag top load washer that’s $300 from whirlpool and backordered but I found them all over eBay for 25 to 50 bucks so I ordered one of those for the Customer.

Unfortunately, there were so many thousands of different timers for early automatic washers and there’s just no demand so nobody’s trying to find these machines and sell the timers, I have over 100 timers for belt Drive whirlpool and Kenmore washer new in the boxes that I will never use.
