I found a Whirlpool Wringer Washer at a local shop. The motor was very loud, it needed a new cord and was rusty, some. I have no clue if the pump works or not and the hook on the lid was broken. I asked the owner how much he wanted for it. He looked it up and told me that he checked E-bay and that they were selling for $160.00. I told him that just because it was from the late '50's or '60's doesn't mean it is worth a fortune and this one certainly isn't. He told me to give him a price, and he said that he won't be insulted. I said no more than $50.00 and that was on the high side.
Everything worked as far as I could see. The motor was very loud. For those of you in the know about things like that, what does that indicate?
On the plus side, the tub was in great condition as well as the surgilator agitator.
It was the top of the line machine for its day, having a timer that shuts the machine off when the desired time was up and rang a bell to let you know. It had a lint filter too but that is long gone. Have fun, Gary

The motor noise could be from a lots of things..
Dry or worn bearing, If motor has cooling blades, they can be source of noise.. Can go on from there.
I'm sure it can be oiled or repaired.
Let us know if you get the machine, and how you make out.
