HB Baconer cleaning

No, it's actually pretty easy to clean, the cooking surface is Teflon coated. I just scrub it with a plastic mesh or Scotch-Brite type sponge and carefully rinse it off so water doesn't get into the guts.

Bacon & eggs

Sure come on over, I'll make soft-boiled or poached eggs in my Salton Egg Cooker (another device I can set and walk away from)to go with the bacon. Pancakes made on my Westinghouse electric griddle also available.

Bacon in a George Foreman Grill

You can do bacon in a George Foreman grill. You can do 2 slices in the regular version and probably 4 or more in the big version. It doesn't quite cook both sides as the bacon doesn't quite touch the top part so you have to flip it once.

I preheat the George Foreman and when it's hot I put the bacon on. Then I cook the eggs and by the time the eggs are done, the bacon's ready to be flipped. Give it a few more minutes and the bacon can come out. Breakfast in under 5 minutes! Now that's modern convenience!

The Baconer Grill is new to me. I do remember that both my grandmothers had '70s Presto (?) individual hamburger cookers, though I don't recall them ever being used. Very briefly in the '80s we had one of those hot dog electrocutors, with a plastic lid for watching the Ball Parks plump. Whatever happened to those I'd like to know!

My grnadparents had a Hot Dogger and I have a Presto Burger maker as well. I haven't tried to cook on it but it does get hot when I plug it in, so I'm sure it will cook.

I wish I still had a hot dogger.

I wish I was an Oscar Meyer WEENIE! My parents made me stand in the corner cause I sang that one time. I guess the word "weenie" was a little too offensive at the time, or maybe I was trying for a double entendre > .

Devices I don't have

Not very many!. There's a few that have been replaced over the years by newer, different brand, or different versions. In some cases, there are large and small versions of the same appliance i.e. large Sunbeam Mixmaster and small GE electric mixer, small countertop Hamilton Beach food processor and full size model I have to take out of a cabinet. Maxim doughnut maker that makes 6 small diughnuts and Hamilton Beach maker that makes 2 large doughnuts at a time.

We need to get you a sign that says "Ye Olde Small Appliance Shoppe". You are definitely the "go to" guy on the small appliance queries.

The only thing you need now is a bread maker. I just picked up a Sunbeam bread maker a couple of weeks ago at WalMart for $28.00. This one bakes a 1.5 or 2 pound loaf, and even makes jam. It has a little window (for those of us who have got to know what it is doing)at the top to let you peak at the mixing and baking. You just can't beat that homemade bread smell, even if you didn't knead it yourself.

Breadmaker

Believe me, the ONLY reason I don't have a breadmaker is that I'd be tempted to make bread and stuff that goes against the Atkins diet I'm trying to adhere to. I still may get one just to say I have one and try to make whole-grain type stuff when I use it.

All over, in cabinets above range, in laundry room (large cabinet stuffed with appliances). Accessories and attachments in drawers. Some stuff like the HB small food processor, Toastmaster 4 slice toaster, Panasonic toaster oven, B & D 4 cup drip coffeemaker, Rival electric ice crusher (another 4 appliances I forgot) sit out on the counters at all times ready for instant use

The Whirleypop arrives!

Just got the Whirleypop (that's how it's spelled on the box) this afternoon! It's already been seasoned (with oil) and ready to go! I have a feeling it's going to get a lot of use!

That is the sound of my entire household eating Whirleypop popcorn! This is great! Popcorn every night for the rest of our lives! Say YAY!!
